+ Takeo212 1,079 Posted April 23, 2016 (edited) @ Chadzter- I concur. Superman is very OP. A lot of DC's characters are like that. That's why I like Marvel more. The heroes feel more human. Even with the Hulk, you have his other half, Bruce Banner who physically is just an average guy. I don't play any instruments because I have no musical talent whatsoever. @PP (yea a I abbreviate your name! Deal with it! ...irony of taking the time to type that took longer than it would to type your name is sinking in... Anyway, never heard their stuff so dunno. Most of the music I listen to is hard rock and metal. Anyone else? EDIT Oh, I didn't see the "Anyon else" part lone. Please be more direct with your questions ^^ Favorite Song? I hoped the person who would answer my question would have had a different answer . As for my favorite genre of fiction: It's a bit hard to explain because it's not really a genre . I really like fictions that depicts a society .It could be historical,science-fiction or fantasy but I want to understand why such social structures are in place . All my favorite fictions fit that criteria . What is something you really like but are sad not enough people know about it ?
+ Takeo212 1,079 Posted April 23, 2016 To be honest. RPG Maker. No one (except 2 friends that I already told about the program) knows nothing about it, or even what it is. That's also the case of everything I like to be honest, but no one knows what RPG Maker is or what it does really. This makes it hard to talk about and brainstorm for my game since no one knows about it (and all they want is "amazing 3D graphics and FPS's"...) Though this just may be a personal thing. Not sure if anyone has the same problem IRL. If you were to start doing something you've never done, or wanted to do but never got the chance, what would you do? Ragnos 122 Posted April 23, 2016 @Takeo: Sorry I realized to late that I forgot to ask a question... Also I'm the same way with RPG Maker. I tell someone I'm working on creating an RPG nd they think it is going to be Super 3D graphics with FPS. People really don't remember the old Final Fantasy days... *sigh* I would probably want to try my hand at voice acting. I have a large vocal range, so I figure why not? I can go as high as a 5 year old child and as low as a Reaper from Mass Effect. Though I don't really have any quality mics so... plus I enjoy making games a bit more. Chadzter01 183 Posted April 24, 2016 (edited) We study English language from school. From kindergarten/preschool - college, We have English subject. But of course with different level of difficulty. We spend more time learning and implementing English language now here in our country so everyone can learn how to speak them. (I feel sorry for those who can't afford to study in school. I hope that someday, Those people will be given the opportunity to study and learn.) We also believe that English language is the universal language and without it, We cannot communicate well with each other. I am definitely not fluent when speaking English verbally and non-verbally but i just hope that you guys can help me become better with it. (especially with the wrong grammars.) Thank you! PS:For those who live in cold and snowy country. I feel jealous, I've never experience it even once. We live in a tropical country so it's not a surprise. Maybe someday when i have enough money to travel. =3 What does it feels like to live on a well developed country? Edited April 24, 2016 by Chadzter01
Rikifive 3,411 Posted April 24, 2016 To the non-fluent English speakers - How did you learn to speak/write English? Mainly from video games. Since I was a tiny little fluffy puffy I was learning English from them. Starting with words like 'Start', 'Options', 'Exit' and 'Use' I guess. =P When stuff was happening, then I was imagining what that word meant - like when I pressed 'Use' the item was used, so I was like. "I see (▀̿Ĺ̯▀̿ ̿)" Then like most of games - there were items, so if there was a potion, lighter, mushroom and stuff like this, then I was learning these terms by looking at their icons. And something like this~ Later I was starting to understand dialogues - when I knew one or two words, then I was able to 'connect' others to give the sentence a sense. Years and years have passed and I had the idea on how to create sentences and use words I know. Besides that there was of course school, but since it was a 'side language' - it wasn't a really important subject at school ~ like ~4 hours / week ~ doing some exercises from books and such ~ Since I knew many basic words, I was a step ahead. I knew basic words - so I was able to use logic during exercises and learn, while when others didn't know nearly anything - they were blindly doing stuff hoping, that the teacher will not kill them. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) When I was ~19 then I was literally the best in my class and others were hiding behind me. - By that I mean they were asking me many, many, many, many times for help with exercises, homework and such, they were also cheating on exams by whispering to me or looking on what I had in here. I still remember how much my teacher believed in me before the 'Secondary School Certificate' exam ~ She literally lost hope for the others and was mainly focusing on me. =P I did VERY well on English part of exams, comparing to the others. =P My English is still not that good, as I'm making mistakes all over the place and I don't know many words. Because I have learned that language mostly by games ~ by text - I'm capable of writing stuff, but when it comes to speaking ~ no experience results in having problems. What does it feels like to live on a well developed country? I have no idea. I don't think Poland is a well developed country. =P Do you have a dream? Jeanne d'Ys 166 Posted April 24, 2016 (edited) To the non-fluent English speakers - How did you learn to speak/write English? My father shoved English to me since I was around 2, and bought full-English encyclopedias and World Books for me to digest even before I know school... It's happier than it sounds, though... And I've grown to love English ever since. Heck, I even use English much more often during monologues rather than Indonesian XD What does it feels like to live on a well developed country? If you see my status updates about Indonesia, you should have a gist of it :) :) Do you have a dream? Ragnos 122 Posted April 25, 2016 My favorite are style would have to be 2D Digital Art. That or really high def pixel art. Do you have a dream? My dream? Well it would probably be finding a way to live forever, or at least a thousand years. I know what you're thinking: "Why would you want to live that long?" My reason is this. I personally don't want to go to where ever it is when you die, I don't want a golden city, a world where your given anything you can imagine, or even eternal happiness. I like it here on Earth in THIS life. I find humanity interesting, and at the same time disgusting. I'd prefer to live an eternal life of hardships, and challenges, because that makes us you we are. I want learn all I can and in the process probably help humanity along the way. If I die without even trying my hardest to find a way then I will never forgive myself. That is my dream. There are a lot of other details surrounding this, but I don't think everyone wants to read a wall of text about my dream. NEXT QUESTION! Whats your favorite food? Purple Phantom 453 Posted April 25, 2016 Pasta, pizza, anything chocolate, sushi, strawberries... <3 What do you think of RPGs set in the modern day or the future?
+ Chaosian 617 Posted April 26, 2016 Better than RTP, and fantasy is rapidly becoming a creatively bankrupt genre so I guess I'd say I look upon them more favorably, but with higher expectations. Nearly all my projects will default to at least a modern era now in my mind. Question: Along the lines of RPG Maker- what is your favorite and least favorite thing about the particular RPG Maker engine you work in?
+ Takeo212 1,079 Posted April 26, 2016 Hmm. I own all the RPGM's (excluding PS" versions) but for the moment, I mainly use MV. My most favorite part would be the fact it easily supports side view battlers now and the javascripting is a little easier to work with (even if I spent a while learning Ruby before MV came out xD) I find the overall program easy to use, and plugins are now easier to handle and are more compatable (I haven't had an issue yet with incompatibility). The bigger gridsize also lets you work on more detailing for certain areas - though this can also be a flaw sometimes when making small items. The character genorator is nicer too and allows you to kinda easily input your own material~ My least favorite thing would be the square grids. Having a grid based system is fair enough, but trying to making anything but squares is kinda urgh. I know there is parralaxing but with MV's lagging now, the images don't immediately load and sometimes take a split second to load when you enter (something you notice happening). I use a fade in to each map to try hide this, but the images seem to load after the fade in happens. Having a loading screen is also a nuisance when using the online version of your game and causes alot of jitter. In short, my least fave thing is the parallaxing not loading immediately due to the slight loading times between maps. When designing a game concept, what times and era's do you prefer to use? Modern, medievil, furturistic, your own era/world, ect.
Nyapurgisnacht 152 Posted April 27, 2016 So far all my projects have taken place in different places and times... One thing I really want to get to working on I'm combining different ideas from around the 1800's period of world history. For others, I have a mildly futuristic/sci-fi setting- If I'm going to go with something contemporary, I think it's fun to try and have extraordinary circumstances. I chose Medieval/Fantasy for Kitty Sim cause it was my first project and all the resources available allowed for rapid development, and I could focus on the gameplay, haha~ Although I am morbidly interested in the Dark Ages, for games I actually never cared for gritty Skyrim/Morrowinds/Lord of the Rings inspired types of fantasy, just not my preference if I have a choice. Getting away from games a bit~ Top 3 Movies GO!! I like hearing why too ;
KainLightsworn 63 Posted April 27, 2016 Ooof, that's a tough one. I like so many! Hmmmm... Weeeell, my number one slot definitely has to go to Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame. Hnnngh that MUSIC, that ANIMATION, the THEMES, it's just all sooo good. That movie was my bloody childhood. To the point where I had a Quasimodo doll I called my 'son' when I was a little kid. I was that obsessed. That movie's left a major imprint on my psyche and a lot of themes about the struggle between a corrupt institutional religion, the people on the streets, the outcasts, the good people within the institution, etc show up in my works. Especially in my game project. Ohhh so very much in my game project. (I just wish they'd have cut the gargoyles, though. Or made them figments of Quasi's imagination. They kind of break the tone for me these days.) Number two goes to The Help. It's one of those movies that, if it's on when flipping channels, I will always stop and watch it. I'm very fond of period pieces, and something that takes a look at the social tensions in 1960s Southern America is always intriguing. Also, Emma Stone. I love her work. Always and forever. I love the characters, I love the interactions, I love the unapologetic look at racial politics that are still relevant today, despite the time capsule nature of the movie itself. Most. DEFINITELY still relevant, considering I LIVE in the South. It's not as racist as some circles of the internet would like to paint it, but... people like Hilly? You'll find them around. Even in the more "liberal" circles. And number three goes to Nightwish's Imaginaerum. I love this freaking band. I loved that freaking concept album. Naturally, when I saw there was a movie being made about it, I had to purchase it. Even before it came out in a format American DVD players could read (Whoops!). It really depends on your taste whether you find this movie overly symbolic and preachy, entertaining if a bit cliche, or the best thing ever. But it deals with some heavy thematic things- losing your world and memories to Alzheimers, reconnecting with distant family, reconciling the past that you feel should have been with what actually was, and that sort of thing. All through a cinematographic spectacle of a journey through a fragmented mind. And the music. The music. It's so great and the cameos the band makes are worked in fairly well, shown via events that either the in-story band performed or other performance venues where a band would make sense. Hoo, that was a wall of text. In the same vein, let's try... top three composers/songwriters! Go!
lonequeso 1,921 Posted April 27, 2016 Favorite food? Chicago deep dish pizza. Best. Thing. Ever. To be realllly specific, pepporoni from Lou Malnati's. Same question. What are your fav foods?
Jeanne d'Ys 166 Posted April 27, 2016 What is your favorite food? I eat almost anything, really. It's been well-known in my family that if the other members fail to empty the kitchen cabinet before things rot, I'll be the one to dump stuff. Regarding favorites though... Well, I don't really know either. In general, anything I find delicious and/or healthy. I also prefer more extreme/exotic food such as frogs, snakes and bats. What do you think of RPGs set in the modern day or the future? Just like Chaosian said. I look forward to them much more, mainly due to the lack of variation in most "general fantasy" RPGs nowadays. Although among "futuristic" and "modern", I usually prefer the "modern" or the "near future" variety. Along the lines of RPG Maker- what is your favorite and least favorite thing about the particular RPG Maker engine you work in? So far, I've used 2k3 (just a bit from my friend), XP (for a short while after beginning everything with VX), VX (mah first), VX Ace (mah fave), and MV (currently). MV: Favorite: A lot of stuff can be done, much like VXA but more complete. Also, the plugins are raining cats and dogs. Bane: MEMORY USAGE, GDI. Also, needlessly huge Project size... When designing a game concept, what times and era's do you prefer to use? I usually prefer the modern era, because I like Anime-style high school story. Although, I'm also very interested in the WWII setting (particularly the Japanese Colonial era in Indonesia), the Dutch invasion, the Japanese samurai era, and a lot more. Oh, I also like designing my own. Top 3 Movies GO!! Very hard question. But I'll give 3 among my favorites, in no particular order. 1. Rurouni Kenshin: The Legend Ends THIS is how you make a faithful animanga adaptation. 2. Kizumonogatari Haven't watched the second and third part obviously, but the first part is pretty good. Also, see my avvy. Poor Koyomin. 3. Pokemon: Destiny Deoxys Mostly nostalgia flavor, but it's also actually a pretty good PokeMovie. Also featuring my favorite UBER-Tier, Deoxys. Oh, and the Japanese ED is catchy. Let's try... top three composers/songwriters! Go! Again, among my favorites and in no particular order. 1. kemu (aka Shota Horie from the Penguin Research) One of my favorite Voca-P, and the one I immediately think when flash-thinking about song producers. I like his style, and finding deep meanings and/or easter eggs in his songs is pretty fun. I also like his character Maki Tamagawa, as proved by my very existence in this forum. 2. Orangestar THE favorite Vocaloid Producer of Maki13. I just like every bit of his creations, the beats, BGMs, and vocal expressions... Although I like his IA a lot more, he is one of the select few whom I can hear tuning Miku without make me cringe. 3. Johann Pachelbel Wow, the odd-one-out from not being a Voca-P! For one sweet reason: Canon in D. Mah question: What is your favorite mathematical formula?
Thaletos 96 Posted April 27, 2016 What is your favorite mathematical formula? I'll go with this: I present to thee the Gauss-Bonnet formula, wich unites my favourite math areas, Topology, Geometry and Measure Theory. Here M is a compact surface, \delta\ M is its boundary, K is its curvature and X(M) is called the Euler-Characteristic. Basically, what this formula says is that the value of the integral of the curvature over the surface determines wich surface is M. (Sorry for the math pedantery ) Top 3 movies This is a real tough question. I can't decide 3 best movies, as I really like lots. But if I must choose, I'll say: - Vértigo | Hitchcock - The Process | Orson Welles - Eraserhead | Lynch My question: Wich is the weirdest film you have seen?

I suspect he just saw the end of page 2, so he ended it there. @Thaletos, I enjoy your responses. Very educated. Unfortunately, I don't get to watch too much film these days, especially not the strange or particularly high brow stuff such as Eraserhead. I've heard Lost Highway is really good though. I have seen the 1979 Caligula however, and Cannibal Holocaust. Those were both pretty strange, for- uh- different reasons.
