@Thaletos: Like your answer!

Also, oh, you like Euler? I like Euler.

I'm not really good in math itself, but I like the art behind it XD (Which makes me wanted to learn about it even more)

Which is the weirdest film you have seen?

Umm... I don't remember its title, but it's one of those random daytime movies you stumbled upon while watching HBO in your grandma's house during enforced vacation because you break your leg. Or something like that. I think it's about an old photographer... And his friend a salaryman... And then there's something regarding his ex, a serial murderer, and stuff getting pretty surreal and everything ends in a weird way, with the main characters at a wedding party in a garden, although it is implied that they're in the afterlife.

What is your absolute favorite video game as a child?

There are a lot (mostly RPGs, Hack-and-Slashes and light Puzzles (usually with adventure elements)), but I think my favorite childhood game is Rogue Galaxy.

My question:

Do you think you're gonna like standing/leaning on/under a lamppost/streetlamp at night? (Bonus points if its during snow/particularly cold night)

What scares you the most?

When I know there is something or a problem that I should've known the answer or solution to it, but instead I don't.

Another one is when I'm hated for a reason I don't know.

ANOTHER one is when there's someone I supposed to remember, but instead I don't. Especially if that person still remembered me well.

I mention those three, because they are almost equally scary to me. Or to put it more honestly, depressing.

My question:

Have you ever tried eating raw animal? (Can be anything, sushi and whale skin included. Bonus points if there's an emphasis on "tried" XD)

I have not tried raw animal. At all. It just doesn't appeal to me.

NEXT QUESTION!

Have you ever played any Touhou Project game?

I haven't, but I've heard of it, mainly because of Bad Apple.

I like Euler, but I prefer Gauss and Pioncaré.

Have you tried eating raw animal?

Well I ate shushi, and I must say I liked it. Also Steak Tar-Tar counts? I must say I have a thing for trying raw food.

Futurama, anybody?

I've seen a few episodes and I liked them, but I'm more of the Simpsons.

My turn:

Do you remember the first game you played?

For my it was this game. It's a 3D paltaformer, quite fun and lengthy. With some real difficult levels too.

Blues Clues. My first M-rated game is more interesting, though. Devil May Cry 3.

I came pretty late to the Castlevania party, my first game was Portrait of Ruin and the only other modern one I played was Ecclesia, which was totally great and a perfect example of what an innovative sequel should be.

That said- it was a pretty great series to get into, and I can understand why people dig the Sorrows and Symphony. It doesn't end there though, Castlevania 1 and 3 still hold up extremely well - better than a lot of other NES games. You could remake both of them now a days and wouldn't have to change a single mechanic for it to be received well.

Because I also find the question interesting, I think my first game ever was Sonic 2 as it was one of the first games we had when our cousin gave us his ~100 Sega Genesis games, and that would have been the first thing my Brother would have tried. Or maybe something like Lemmings because it was on my Dad's computer at the time. A long time ago though, before I can remember.

Question:

What was the best day of your life?

I shall answer all questions on this page thus far, and thus will be a looong post:

What do you think of RPGs set in the modern day or the future? Seeing as how Shin Megami Tensei, one of my favorite jRPG franchises, is heavily drenched in such a setting, I would say that I think pretty favorably of them.

Along the lines of RPG Maker- what is your favorite and least favorite thing about the particular RPG Maker engine you work in? I haven't played too much with MV at the moment, but I like how stable the plug-ins feel, as I haven't suffered from incompatibility issues, and it's very easy to manipulate which functions of the plug-in you actually want running. My least favorite thing about MV is easily the lack of outside resources that can be used, but that'll change, given time.

When designing a game concept, what times and era's do you prefer to use? Modern or futuristic - I find the idea that supernatural things happening in the world that surrounding us today to be really fascinating. A lot of my own game concepts pretty much revolve around this obsession of mine.

Top 3 Movies GO!! I like hearing why too ;3 I wish I could tell you that I have more classy tastes in terms of films (like Thaletos mentioning Lynch's Eraserhead, that movie was pretty classic). But I watch a lot of movies - in a way, film is a humongous part of my life, moreso than video games and other stuff I'm interested in. Hell, there were times where I considered going into a career in the industry, although I think against it nowadays. However, I love all sorts of movies - the bad ones, the great ones, I find myself appreciating something in them, even for the most superficial reason.

Anyways, as for my three favorites, I'm very unsure, but the first three that come to mind of movies that I think about a lot would be the following: â€‹The Godfather Part 1, Kingsmen: The Secret Service, and Toy Story.

I really like crime movies, but I think back fondly onThe Godfather Part 1 because it did two things right: it balanced the crime fiction that I came in to watch with the personal touches of the director and writer, making it a more rewarding viewing experience, and it also took chances with its content. They neither glorified nor put down crime, and I think that's really something. I don't consider The Godfather Part 2 to be superior only because it drew too much from what made the first movie great, and it also felt more personal, especially with the parts concerning Vito Corleone's youth - at times, I felt really uncomfortable because I felt like I was watching the fiction form of Coppola and Puzo's lives.

Kingsmen: The Secret Service was one of those rare movies for me where I got super excited about an original action film that stylistically felt like a comic book film (ironically, it was a comic book film in the end, but I didn't know at the time). I wouldn't say Kingsmen â€‹is a groundbreaking movie in any way - but it was pretty much everything I wanted it to be, minus a few things. I didn't feel disappointed, and I came out of that movie feeling super excited because of just how much fun I had watching that movie, an experience that is incredibly rare for me (Deadpool gave me this in a greater magnitude, but I listed Kingsmen because it was the first time I truly felt like that coming out of a movie).

Toy Story is an interesting thing for me, because I honestly don't view it through a nostalgic lens - I honestly didn't think much about Toy Story when I was a kid. It was when I got older and got really into animated films that I really appreciated what Toy Story could really evoke - that in your childhood, you will always be surrounded by the things that love you. Whenever I think of Toy Story, I think of it as one of the most definite "feel good" films ever made.

In the same vein, let's try... top three composers/songwriters! Go! As much as I like listening to music, I can't give as much depth as to why I like the music, sadly~ That being said, I usually cite Trent Reznor, Marilyn Manson, and Frederic Chopin as my favorites. Trent Reznor's music is definitely what I would call "edgy", much like Manson's, but there's a certain ambience to their stuff that I can really get behind (despite the fact that Manson's music is leagues more heavy than Reznor's as far as the instruments are concerned). Chopin composed a lot of classical tunes I like, although my absolute favorite classical piece is Gymnopedies, composed by Erik Satie. That being said, I didn't branch out into Satie's stuff outside of that set of songs, so I don't have a super firm opinion as to what I think of him.

Same question. What are your fav foods? â€‹Probably mapo tofu.

What is your favorite mathematical formula? The beauty of a lot of math formulas such as the aforementioned Gause-Bonnet comes from the fact that when understood fully, you never get a more complete and perfect answer to your question then the solution from a formula. A lot of mathematicians mention Euler's as being a favorite because of how elegantly it solves itself after you substitute your values in. That being said, I like Pythagorean Theorem - it's about as practical as a mathematical formula can get, and it's also proof of how the dimensions of certain shapes manage to be both flexible and rigid at the same time.

Which is the weirdest film you have seen? It's tough to say, I saw a lot of weird ones - but not counting certain anime anthologies such as Neo Tokyo (which I saw when I was maybe sixteen?), more recently, the most weirdest film I remember watching was Meatball Machine, a Japanese splatter film. Before that, I've seen similar stuff like The Machine Girl, but Meatball Machine is stuck in my memory because of a particular scene involving a close-up of a woman's eye and drills - by that point, I couldn't watch the complete movie, and turned my attention to something else while my friends continued to watch the movie. I'd turn my head to see bits and pieces of it, but I could not watch the whole thing.

Wait, did Ionequeso get ninja'd by 5 people? I didn't count, but sure, let's say he did.

What is your absolute favorite video game as a child? I guess it depends on when I consider the point of me being a "child". The very first game I ever beat, and the one really responsible for me loving the RPG genre, was Paper Mario. I played that game multiple times, and I really, really loved it. However, when I was maybe eleven or twelve, I received a hand-me-down PlayStation 2 from my uncle. There were three games that I played throughout middle school that really defined what I wanted from video games - the first was Final Fantasy X. I really liked that game, and it was the first Final Fantasy I truly played (I would later get a PSX with a bunch of cracked games like FF8 and FF9, and I played the PC port of FF7, and mostly handheld ports of the older Final Fantasy games. That PSX also let me play Symphony of the Night). Soon after that though, I played Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne, which instantly became my idea of a turn-based RPG I could really get behind. FFX was responsible to make me look out for jRPGs, but Nocturne solidified my love for jRPGs and Shin Megami Tensei. However, the third game is perhaps my favorite game of all time: Silent Hill 2. What a truly fantastic game - the gameplay isn't super solid, but it did everything else right. I was also a gamer who like turn-based combat and long, epic games, so clearly, gameplay wasn't a big priority for me at the time - I just wanted a fantasy adventure (a bonus if it had a cast of characters I could love). Those three games from my PS2 days, plus Paper Mario, really defined what I look for in video games nowadays - growing older also made me aware of what those games lacked that I also wanted, and it helped define my tastes more.

So depending on the age of when I was a child, it's a toss-up between Paper Mario and Silent Hill 2.

Do you think you're gonna like standing/leaning on/under a lamppost/streetlamp at night? (Bonus points if its during snow/particularly cold night) Well, on a cold night, leaning your back against a lamppost is super uncomfortable, and I speak from experience, because the metal never heats up, and the cold permeates through your clothing easily. Also, the post itself was actually painful for me to lean on because of my back issues, but at the time, I had no other place to rest.

What scares you the most? Despite people thinking I'm really brave because of my interest in horror games, and the fact that I do most things somewhat willingly (it granted me a good amount of skills as a result), I'm actually a massive bitch with a ton of anxiety issues. That being said, I guess having something done on my body permanently really bothers me (the scene I mentioned earlier with Meatball Machine just had me imagine what it must feel like to get my eyes drilled, and by that point I was like "NOPE").

Have you ever tried eating raw animal? I feel like I have eaten something particularly gross raw - well, more like being forced on: someone tried to feed me cricket legs once, and since we were kids, they were trying to shove that shit in my mouth. I could eat ants, but cricket legs? Fuck that shit.

Have you ever played any Touhou Project game? We actually had Perfect Cherry Blossom installed on some of the computers in my high school, so I got to play through that during a lunch break when I wanted to be by myself - although I usually had my closest buddy with me. Good times.

Futurama, anybody? I've seen that entire show, and although I think the final seasons were kinda meh, I really appreciated Futurama - it defines what I consider to be great comedy at the time, and it was a lot more tasteful than South Park, another show I really liked (and probably still do, I just haven't seen the past couple of seasons).

Do you remember the first game you played? I remember it being specifically Majora's Mask, and I also remember a certain youtuber by the name of PeanutButterGamer (his Zelda content is pretty fantastic, although I can't say the same for the rest of his stuff - I do like the personality of the channel though) stating that a Zelda fan's favorite game in the franchise is often going to be the first one he or she played. Or was that the Completionist that said that? Anyways, I think that really rings true - Majora's Mask was a game that I never personally owned. My friend had that beautiful golden cartridge, and I played through most of it in his house. It wasn't until high school that I downloaded a N64 emulator, and the first game I downloaded was Majora's Mask. When my parents saw how much I loved Majora's Mask, they bought me a N64, but the games I remembered actually owning on that were Donkey Kong 64 (came with the console), Super Mario 64Pokemon SnapPokemon StadiumStar Wars: Battle for Naboo, and Paper Mario.

Any Castlevania fans? Konami used to be a game company I really liked, because of three series they were developing: Metal GearSilent Hill, and Castlevania. As a franchise, I really like Castlevania - it's also an interesting series in that it has so many ups and downs the franchise might as well be a cosine wave. My personal favorite was Circle of the Moon, followed by Symphony of the Night, and then Dracula X Chronicles/Rondo of Blood - I thought that the Sorrows games played very well, but I didn't like Soma Cruz very much, he felt like a worse version of Alucard for me. As far as the 3D Castlevania games are concerned, I think Lament of Innocence was probably the best and most interesting, as Curse of Darkness felt very disappointing to me, and the Lords of Shadow games...I will get into that soon enough. In general though, I liked the GBA Castlevania, but didn't care as much for the NDS ones.

As for Lords of Shadow, I have mixed feelings about it. Truth be told, I don't really consider most of them to be Castlevania games - hell, only one of them ever takes place in a single castle, with the intent of climbing to the top, and challenging Dracula. And that particular Lords of Shadow title, Mirror of Fate, was easily the one I considered to be the best of the three games in the spin-off, only because it felt and played closest to what I considered to be a Castlevania experience. The worst part was that Mirror of Fate wouldn't even be considered a good Castlevania â€‹game because its level design is unbelievably shallow, and the combat is filled to the brim with QTE. One thing I could really appreciate about Lords of Shadow in general is that the developers tried to make the games more open - the issue is that they failed on that as well. These games came at an unfortunate time where Konami had already lost their vision as a game developing company, and began outsourcing their stuff to foreign developers, and Silent Hill also suffered from this after Silent Hill 4: The Room was released. The people developing these games didn't really have the proper vision to make a game that could be called a truly worthy addition to the franchise, and that makes me really sad.

What was the best day of your life? I'll know when it happens.

@Yuugami- Holy giant walls of text, Batman!

Undertale? I'd have to play it. I don't really feel any urge to do so. I am slightly curious to what all the fuss is about, but not enough to actually play it or even read about it.

Is there going to be a sequel called Overhead? =3

Not my actual question. I think this was asked, but I'm too lazy to check.

Do y'all like sports? Which ones? Playin', watchin' or both?

I enjoy Undertale personally, but the youtube fanbase for it is kinda urking... to many game breakers/spoilers/theories. Just enjoy the game dammit instead of ruining it xD

Ohh, does a martial art count as a sport?

I used to do Kickboxing alot before problems arose and I couldn't really handle going anymore. My BF still trains/teaches it though.

I even used to do ring fights during it, but due to me being to nice a person, I was never aggressive enough to actually go all out (I had the skill apparently, just never aggressive enough to actually hit them)

I also enjoy participating in sports - though that isn't very often - but I hate watching the, especially football. it's fun playing it, but boring watching someone else play. Watching sports is like going to a gym and watching someone work out whilst you sit eating sweets. Thats just my opinion though, I know some people enjoy the entertainment of watching sports.

@Lone: You can ask the same question, don't worry :3 as long as the same person who answered it prior doesn't answer again.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time, when your not making games?

If not counting computers at all: Walking in the fields outside town for hours and just enjoying the bright and colorful day. When it's raining or during the cold days (eg. Winter Season) then... Doing nothing else than sitting on internets... Hence I don't like Winter, because it's a 'sad' season. . .

Ooooh. So many worlds to choose from...

If I had to choose, then I guess Pokemon - the original concept such as Origins or the manga, and not the weird anime one.

Reason: I would love to be able to go around the world and meet new "animals" and befriend them. I would maybe enter battle championships too - but only if my pokemon were up to it and I felt they were ready. I would love to raise and care for them, and in general research them (In-game, my BF is the breeder but I

m more the tacticaly fighter that actually uses pokemon they love and moves that help balance them *looks at idiots using OU pokemon not poekmon they like*

Also, I would love to have a RL Arcanine and Raichu. Like, they are my lovelies.

Other worlds would be SAO and maybe Final Fantasy 8 (being trained to be a SEED, yes please~)

No matter how stupid it will sound, but Nowhere else than Equestria! And I wouldn't go back.

And why? . . . It's actually personal and really stupid. I'll just say - Because it's a colorful and lovely world, not corrupted and cruel like ours. . .

What was/is your greatest inspiration to create games, draw, compose or do anything you enjoy doing in general?

Another silly story, that involves ponies... again... (sorry for that) but I started using RPG Maker and joined this community ONLY because of MLP. I sincerely wasn't thinking of making games nor anything like this, but wh.. Okay that's enough of that. It's a lame story. =P

But yup, literally MLP, as can be noticed by looking on projects, that I'm working on.

What made you want to use RPG Maker and join this community?

Nothings too silly Riki~ The entire point of this topic is to get to know each other better, so I am all ears for anything you have to say/write~ I still remember when you first joined - you were all dismissive of your MLP love, and now your even getting people who don't like MLP to look forward to your game and such.

Oooh. I think I originally came across the site when I first started using RPG Maker ACE on a friends steam account. he bought the "game" and never used it, so I gave it ago.

During this period, I became a hoarder of resources - I didn't care where or how I got them - if I liked it, I DL'd it and would use it without a bother.

I came across this site during that phase - seeking stuff I could Download.

I think I joined years ago, but after a year or so, rejoined the site under a new name - mainly because I have no idea what my old name was - if I did join beforehand.

After a little lurking in the quiet around the sight, I began talking to/helping people and eventually grew to really like the community here.

RPGM Web is to.. cluttered and busy for my social issues, so I really prefer being here with people I know and trust.

In short: I was a resource grabber and eventually matured and grew to enjoy the forums. I even used to have stuff that wasn't allowed, such as the "Big Bad Iconset", but once I got over that phase, I deleted everything and started anew. I was that RPGM user a few years ago... ;-;

I still miss my chair avatar. xD

Hah, similar to me ~ I found that forum when I was looking for random scripts to throw in my game. Not even a month later I've ran into a problem with a script and to look for help (since I had huge 0 experience at scripting), I've registered there and created my first thread. I never used forums that much ~ It always was like 'create an account, ask a question then vanish', but something made me stay there.

Since I wasn't used to forums, I was kinda hesitant with participating in discussions and such. I'd never guess I'll become an active person in here, I actually surprised myself.

I admit, that at the beginning I was also 'stealing' everything what I found on the internets and I had that funny iconset as well (I wanted to make a silly and quick game, so I was using random stuff) ~ but as I was gaining more and more experience, I started to create my own stuff and the project actually went way much serious. (from silly&quick to serious&ItTakesForeverToMake game) =P

That's why I've restarted my project - I've cleaned the mess I've created and gave it a fresh start.

So... You're not the only one. (☞゚∀゚)☞

What is your favorite food?

Not mentioning pizzas and stuff like this ~ I love vegetables and stuff made of milk.

My favorite color is black. And yes, I'm aware that it's technically not a color. However, I technically don't care. To answer Riki's questions:

Favorite food: Chicago style Deep Dish. (drool)

Perfect Job? Really? On this forum you ask this? You already know the answer is going to involve video games. Forro me development in general, but level design and story writing are my strongest suits so one ifo those would be perfect. If I absolutely had to choose between them, writing. I looove writing.

@lonequeso - Mine are purple and black. Orange is cool, though. :) Also, if you think about it, black is a mix of every colour there is, so it technically is a colour. ;)

Uhm... Uhm... o_o The Mechanisms. Hands down, The Mechanisms.

What's your absolute favourite genre (music, films, books, games, anything, really. :))?

Ah, but if you're about light, black is the absence of color. How's that for duplicity? =p Never heard for the Mechanisms. Mine would be Disturbed, and Slipknot is a close second.

Favorite genre? If the above wasn't obvious music would be Metal.

Videogames would be RPGs then FPS.

Movies is a tough one. Action movies are high up there for genre, but really my favorite movies ate simply ones that have deep, interesting characters. That transcends any one genre. I go to see movies based more on the actors than the story itself.

Books. Been too long since I've read one.

I no longer have the attention span to sit still and read. I blame Obama.

I like this question so let's keep it here. Favorite genres?

Duplicity. Nice. :) Uhm, they're a storytelling Steampunk band.

Music - Punk, rock, grunge, Steampunk, Cyberpunk, techno, electro, dubstep, the kinda stuff you'd hear at a rave, video game music and early metal.

Video games - Anything story-based. If it has a good story, I'll likely play it... Or watch it, at the very least.

Films - Action, horror and sci-fi (what a big surprize XD).

Books - Horror, sci-fi, paranormal and Harry Potter- or Leven Thumps-esque fantasy.

I like it, too. Let's keep it rolling. :)

Hmm, genres eh?

Music would be overall rock possibly. All this pop stuff nowadays makes my ears bleed.

Games is definetely JRPG and RPG's. I like the occasional simulation game, but they seem to have died out and became a conning genre (to many joke and abandoned games... *sigh*) Action is a nice genre too, but I don't like FPS's much.

Movies would possibly be romance or action. Though, I don't watch movies alot nowadays, but I do admit animated movies always peek my interest (I love Pixar/Dreamworks - even if the movie sucks, that animation is so smooth)

Books I struggle with. Like Lone, I have a short attention span and easily get distracted so I haven't read to much. I would however say Fantasy and Action are nice. I started reading books by Brent Weeks (Shadow Within and Black Prism). The BF has a trilogy of his books, and I loved the first one, so I hope to read the other two. Such a good book - if I actually get to read it without distractions.

Where would your dream holiday be, and why?
