Make an event only happen once in a common event

Recommended Posts

I have the menu set to open in a parallel process common event that basically just performs an action, opening the menu in this case, when you change the lead actor. I want it only to happen once, but it continues too loop and no matter what I try, it won't stop. Can a script fix this? I'll explain more if you're confused.

At the end of the event, put a "Self Switch: A" on it, and make a page 2.

On page 2, select the option on the left of the event to "Self Switch: A; ON"

That should stop it looping :)

It's a common event. There is no page 2. I simply want to open the menu once in the event, but when you close it, it keeps opening and that's the problem. I know this seems strange, but my lead actors have a script where they hold their weapon and the only way the weapon sprite changes is if you open the menu and close it, which is ridiculous. This goes along with my other post you answered.

OOO! I just had an idea. Would it be possible to trigger a common event whenever you changed the lead actor? That way, I could take it off of parallel process. Which means no loops!
