+ Asharonapaul 276 Posted May 1, 2016 (edited) Cupid's Universe Abstract: A game based of my novels, taking place after the conclusion of the final book of the Cupid series.Genre: RPG, Choice and Consequences, High FantasyGame Progression: 1% complete overall, characters 1%, story line 25%, dialogue 1%, music 1%Recruitment: Currently looking for voice actors, any English speakers will do, must have a microphone and a way to save audio as wav, mp3 or ogg (audacity can handle these formats and is free). also animators, for cut scenes, this position does pay, we can discuss how much in convo. I am also welcome to anyone that has ideas for the game they want to share with me, credit will be given. Story: The game takes place where the player has already completed an epic quest to find the Realm of Lakmi, under instruction from the last of the Moha, a race of Indians descendant from the thunderbeing name Moha. The player is to uncover the lost memories of Lakmi to discover their purpose in the game, as well as find shards of the Thunder Being to learn new skills to help them defeat the main antagonist. The game starts off in Lakmi's realm, which is a small room full of hidden treasures that never reveal themselves until later. It then sends you to Velsaron, a planet Lakmi grew up on, full of dragons and not much else. The player must learn to use portals on the world in order to progress to the next world, Kaporu, the home planet to the Guild of Psychedelic Warriors. Then its off to Ekshe the home planet of Aphromann. From there, its explore what you please, with a destroyed Earth, and remnants of an ancient civilization in a distant universe, and the discovery of the final shard of the thunder being on a remote planet. The main antagonist is a leader of the Zlo, a race of shapeshifters that appear throughout the game, hidden as random npcs in disguise. One of the Shards of the Thunder Being gives the ability to identify the Zlo, but not much is known for the player as to what to do about them, until going to visit Psychedelic Warrior, because he is a record keeper in the game.Goals for the player depend highly on which race the player selects, from Earthling, Kaporian, to Ekshean. Each race has a different goal, and there are NPCs that favor one over the other. So there really is no one right choice. However, those goals are shaped by the player when interacting with NPCs. Character Bios: Lakmi: A demi-god born of Night Wind and Aphrodite, unfavored by Zeus. Discovered the location of Cupid the bow, and defeated many dragons using a power of that bow. Husband to Ama, father to Nohlukwa. Died from a poisonous mushroom which was given to him on his five-hundredth birthday. Does not remember much now. With the help of the Mide, he created his own realm, where no other deities may enter unless he decides, and no one may leave without his permission. Lost the bow upon death and does not know where it is.Ama: A daughter of the chief of the Moha, descendants of the Thunderbeing of the Iroquois. Mother to Nohlukwa, wife of Lakmi. Died in another reality, and finally that reality made its crossing in the present, and now she is dead, existing as a Mide, a being of powerful medicines. She still possess a turtle shell which was a gift from White Shell Woman, meant to keep her invisible to other deities.Svhiyeyi: A Cherokee Winged God of Night. Brother of Dusk, and son of Ugitsisgv. Capable of manifesting items into existence, such as swords or armor but not gold. Often times too logical, until the passing of his brother at the hands of Lakmi. Sworn to protecting Lakmi anyways.Dusk: The God of Dusk. Brother of Svhiyeyi, and son of Ugitsisgv and Sol. His emotions can change the weather of a planet, and is very emotional at times. A complication with a Titan Dragon and Lakmi's bow Cupid lead to his death. Now resides in Bern, the heaven of the Dragons on Velsaron. Demanded that his brother Svhiyeyi protect Lakmi.Psychedelic Warrior: A Mantis of Kaporu. Retired from Kaporus' armed forces. Upon retirement traveled the Universe using his magic to bring bread and water to those in need. Spent years writing poetry about the nebulas he saw in his travels. Now is the leader of his own guild of warriors.Aphromann: A Dohan of Ekshe. Very powerful warrior, once slave. Capable of many great feats. Now resides with his wife and sister Etiphronia, aboard the Nexus Nirvana. Likely a great aid to the player if they can get his approval.Quetzalcoatl: The murderer of Lakmi's parents. First to be assimilated by the Zlo's God of the Hunt, Zalsid. He was chosen to find the bow Cupid, and return it to Zalsid, its rightful owner. However, Lakmi's powers turned him good, and now he is a God of the Aztec, that is until the Aztec were wiped out. Now he lives near his home planet, Kaporu, seeking out the rune which will set him free, and keep him from being destroyed by Zalsid.Zalsid: The God of the Hunt to the Zlo. He is the first to make contact with any civilization, and a precursor to invasion by the Zlo. He always attempts to assimilate the local pantheons, and make stronger the pantheon of the Zlo. He was the one to hunt baby Cupid and place the child's soul into a silver bow. He conquered a few civilizations before a Mantis tricked him into giving him the bow. Now Zalsid awaits the return of his bow, while making new weapons from souls of the Gods. The player may choose to side with him, but is it worth it?Huorrio: Companion to Aphromann. A shaman of India. Capable of manifesting sacred items that aid in the players spirituality alignments.Paladin: The scout of the Psychedelic Warrior Guild. Resides now on the planet Gra'al. Has no real help in uncovering Lakmi's memories, but knows a lot about the universe and the encounters on planets, as well as secrets to difficult quests. If he likes the player, he is more than willing to hand over some valuable armor.Etiphronia: Sister and Wife of Aphromann. once a slave through birthrights. Mother to a bastard child hermaphrodite, one of the last survivors of the Salom people.Ugitsisgv: Iroquois Goddess of Dawn. Mother of Svhiyeyi and Dusk, keeper of the Wardens. the player would have to be immortal to be in her pressence, but her alignment brings nightvision and other powers of light.Sky Elk: knows the story of Lakmi's parents in full. Only appears to those seeking a vision. once protected the Earth, until his death three times.Night Wind: A Iroquois, of relation to the Moha, tho not Moha himself. Father of Lakmi, husband to Aphrodite. Now resides in Hades. He was once a member of the House of Ugitsisgv as a guardian to the house. His alignment is only achievable if the player kills Hades.Aphrodite: A Greek Goddess. Mother of Lakmi and Eros, wife to Night Wind. Now resides in Hades. ONce a member of the House of Ugitsisgv. Her alignment is only achievable if the player kills Hades.Hades: Antagonist to Lakmi. Defeating him means bringing on the wrath of the Greek Pantheon, as all the souls including Zeus are released. If you align with him, you gain powers such as summoning zombies or skeletons, or even bringing someone back to life.Mirari: Wife of Psychedelic Warrior and from Kaporu. She is an Arborist, and can help the player learn much of plants and trees throughout the Universe. Is very peaceful.Zya: The leader of the Salomander people on Velsaron. He believes anyone to come and kill dragons is a messiah of the Salomander people. Is going senile. Will give the bow of Wind Fire to the player if they kill Nya, however Nya is very helpful to the player in completing quests. He is also trying to get his sword back from the ruins of the Salomander people. You can find him in the Ganzi caves of the Ganzi mountains. There are many NPCs as well, that aren't as important as the ones listed, however each quest they offer goes hand in hand with the main quest line. And the choices made when dealing with an NPC not listed impacts the behaviors of the characters listed. Credits: modern algebrarikifive for helping me with creating my own scripts for the gameshiggy for taking on a commissioned script jobmoghunterpurplephantom, arilison, evan, crystal, sweetD for taking on a voice acting positionJulian Taveras for taking on the job of creating a Comic Book Series based on the novel Cupid's Rising, and allowing me to use the panels for cut-scenes in the game.Neon BlackZentsuki new for voice acting!and more to come in time Screenshots: So I have included some screens, showing the fact that decisions shape the game. and also the title screen. Sorry, I don't have much content with the game yet, as some scripts are still under development, as well as maps and such.http://imgur.com/a/NO227 Features: So there are some standard features, as well as ones I've thought up on my own that will be implemented.1 - Decisions and Consequences. Say you want to just fight everyone you meet, they are less likely to help you if you do so. and the ability to regain trust is very difficult, but possible. So making a decision is very important to the game and storyline. Helping the wrong NPCs can result in an alignment shift with other characters.2 - Alignment. So whenever there is an encounter with a NPC, there is an alignment value that is altered. Positive alignments bring good things, negative alignments can cause many problems for the player. There is no one way to behave in the game to be perfect, as some NPCs don't like another, and helping their enemies can hurt alignment with them. There is also Spiritual Alignment, where deities gift skills to the player for praying to them, or carrying out various tasks. This only adds to the complexity of handling alignment with NPCs, so choosing what Deity to align with is important.3 - Crafting. There are many items to be collected in the game, and they can be used to create potions, food, armors and such. Recipies can be obtained with any NPC.4 - Racial Skills. Choosing your home planet grants you different Racial skills. Skills which the player has by default, that are learned at the appropriate levels of experience. These skills have their own ranking system, and branches of skills that allow passive or active execution, that can be altered through rank allocations. So if you converse alot, the communications skill increases, and you can allocate points to Lying or Fast Talk, for instance.5 - Story Line Skills. There are three main storylines to be had in the game. Each one offers different skills to be used that aid in the completion of that storyline. However, only one may be chosen at a time. The first storyline can be found on Velsaron. most strylines quests take place on multiple planets.6 - Thunderbeing Skills. Finding shards of the Thunderbeing do two things. Reveal Lakmi's storyline, and grant the player a power. that is all I have so far developed or planned out. some concept art to come later.
