[Huge Project] Anatriscix

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I've been working on something huge for the last few days, and I've been trying new techniques that I hope you like!
The shadowings use from 3 to 5 colors, and they are done a way that it give them different tones, while recreating the texture of wood (or grass).
Now, the monster Anatriscix, the incarnation of nature, my biggest project:

Please zoom in the image to see all the details.

I haven't animated it as it would require days of work, and I also want to work on something else.
This could be used as a side-view battler for RPGMaker, you can use it if you credit me.

Note: The "stone" on his chest is not stone, it is another kind of wood.

Please, give me your opinion about this work and what should I improve as it really helps me. Thanks!

Wow!! He looks amazing c: The bark texture is fantastic. I think the little swirl on the log is kind of weird though, but that's just a preferential detail. I wish the vines that dangle off his arms were a little more tapered at the end too, or it would be super cool if they were all ragged looking (but that'd be hard to pull off with pixels). Overall though you've done a great job.  :thumbup3:  Good luck!

Thanks! It took me a lot of time to do the bark textures. I didn't put much effort on the vines though.

This is a great work of art, though something that "moves" me so to speak is the way the shadowing of the over-all body is. Normally the further something is, depending on the light, it's normally darker. But I still have to agree with Tsarmina. It's great work nonetheless.

Thanks for the reply, I'll keep that in mind for next pixel arts.
