Overworld Tileset?

Recommended Posts

I've started using another Tileset for Iniquitous since I found a ACE to MV resource converter which has been a life saver, but now the over world map seems kinda... lacking...

Are there any Overworld tilesets people have made out there besides RTP?

I suppose I could create my own world map design in Photoshop, but that would take quite a long time.

I imagine this should be under resource requests since you want tilesets.

Also, I assume you want MV overworld tiles then?

I haven't personally seen any yet, but I'm sure there might be some out there.

Why not try mix and matching the MV and Ace ones? (Since you got a convertor I mean).

Might help make your map more lively? Even using ACE overworld tiles and converting them might work. (Check TOU though, incase some don't want you using them in MV)

That's all I can offer so far atleast until someone makes MV ones.

Alright thanks.

Though I think I might just go with creating an image then using that as the overworld. Though I'm not entirely sure how I would go about implementing it into the game.

You would turn it in to a parallax map.

Here is a really easy to follow tutorial. It learned me!

http://www.rpgmakercentral.com/topic/12299-getting-started-with-parallax-mapping/

The only issue is that the scripts here were developed for Ace so there might be some conflict with MV. The general principle of the tutorial is sound, but you may have to look for MV scripts that do the same thing to lock the parallax from moving in ways that you don't want.
