This time I plan to:

Make an 8-bit type minigame that will have: (most likely a platformer one)

- 100% unique gameplay as for RM!

- 100% of my silly pixel art

- 100% of my sound effects

- 100% of my own music from my new upcoming album named "Best When Muted" (I hope I'll manage to make it sound less ear-destructive though) (I have no idea how to make music, but it'll be fun! XD)

 

My rules:

0% of RTP

The challenge is real. (▀̿Ĺ̯▀̿ Ì¿)

Though, I do intend to try make mostly custom stuff - even quick, "ugly" pixel stuff. Get's me in a groove for things~

Pretty sure that counts as a resource and I'm just dumb right now, but I thought I'd ask to be sure.

Yes, It counts as a resource. You can only start to make resources intentionally for your IIAW entry AFTER the contest starts.
 

Just a reminder for other contestants, music that's already there/publicly available is okay. (because they weren't made for your game, you're just able to use them)

 

I'd call this more of a challenge than a contest, actually. After all, that's the fun of it.

Challenge 1: Put life on hold and find time to make game

Challenge 2: Cry and stress over spending limited time no resources

Challenge 3: Actually make game and have it tested within limited time

Challenge 4: Life explodes and you have no time to make game

Challenge 5: Cry over failing to submit a game for the fourth contest in a row.

I pay my rent on Friday, so once that's paid, I was hoping to try and purchase a DLC pack or 2 as rewards. I can't promise just yet, but I'll let ya know on Friday/Saturday and give you the steam keys if I get them~

I already intended them to be public, but they were made before the contest so...

Long story:

As for your resources, anything made before the contest is fair game, you can use any of it since you obviously have your own permission.

However, if you make the resources with the intention to use it for your game that will be submitted for this contest, you cannot use it. Anything that you make solely for your contest game before the contest starts is not allowed. You would be effectively be "working" on your game for more than a week.

 

Sure, you can say you intended to use it for another game, and this just happened to come by. If that's the truth, okay.

 

But if you started to make things after this topic was posted and before the contest starts with the intention of using it in your contest game later... Well, we can't stop you. Nor can we read your intentions and know the truth. But keep in mind that you'll be cheating.

Since I don't know the theme, there wouldn't be much point in making tiles just for that (yay, sci-fi tiles! *theme is medievil* Doh!)
