Best VX Ace DLCs?

Recommended Posts

Hello! I was wondering what the absolute best VX Ace DLCs are. I've seen a lot that look fantastic, but have several bad reviews that say they aren't worth the price or that they're too small or that they're lacking in one thing or another. I have a huge file of nothing but Free to Use stuff, but I was really just curious what the best DLCs are, in your opinions. :)

Personally I like the Germania, DS Resource, and Ancient Dungeons: Base Pack the best out of all that I've bought. They're the ones where it seemed I got the most for my money.

I have two of those on my Wishlist! :D Thank you so much for your response. ^_^

Most of what I'm getting is sci-fi. Not enough of it. :)

Agree heartily with DS Resource. Tailor made to work with RTP. Plus... faces!

I also like Monster Legacy 1. A good re-design of RTP monsters and more, complete with battlers and... <drum roll> faces for each!

I absolutely LOVE the look of Germania, just like everyone else, but I'm holding off for now. No snow, no sand, from what I hear. Mixing and matching tiles to this set is difficult, also from what I hear, which would make absent tiles all the more problematic.

The ones with busts are good, but I got them at a discount. (I'd advise trying to do the same XD)

Edit: One of the free busts and character ones is a bad-off. (You'll see) -_-

I've just added all DS resources to my Wishlist. I looked at Monster Legacy 1... They look very 3D. O.o Me likey. I didn't know that about Germania, though... Hmm... Thanks for letting me know.

Thanks! ^_^ Which one is the bad-off? Is it the Hero and Daughter one?

I actually didn't like ancient dungeons a lot. And it's true a lot of the resource packs are very small, which could be a turn off, I don't complain 'cause I bought them with the christmas (85%!) sale, but otherwise I would be slightly miffed.

Anyway, in my opinion the best and most useful are the ds tiles (any), time fantasy and retro modern. I loved all three of them. Pop horror city is not bad as well, but it's a pretty specific tileset.

I haven't tested the bust and music ones but they look pretty useful.

Hmm, "what is best" depends entirely on what kind of project you want~

I really like the DS tiles since the style is pretty cutesy, but I haven't actually used them yet.

I am gradually buying them all - gradually

I focus more on the music packs to be honest. I don't have any means of making my own audio - and the one program I used in College was GarageBand - a MAC only program (Dang you college and your poopy MAC's!)

The Good Hero bust pack is pretty... okay. Alot of the busts are awkwardly posed, but they are of good quality.

The Dark Hero pack looks alot nicer - but evil guys. Yep.

I enjoy the bulk of them - though the medieval buildings one is my favorite graphical one (though, I suck at prallaxing, so I haven't used it... yet)

You're right, you have to go all or none with Germania. It's still beautiful, though.

Germania and all DLC are on sale on Steam.

For $5 I don't care if it has holes. :)

I'm with Juju on favorites, but I must say the fantasy settings are what I aim for. It's something MV lacks, so Ace is fun to use with that.

Music from JBD artist. However they do a very poor job in their terms of use. Would love for them to try and censor someone so they get sued out of business.

DS, DS+, and High Fantasy are probably my favorites, although there are a few others I'd consider as well.
