Antioch 33 Posted June 19, 2016 So I've been looking around and so far haven't found any answers to the query, although a few others with the same problem. The issue that I have is as a result of adding the contents of a plug-and-play generator resource pack to my generator (and being an idiot I forgot to backup :/) which has lead to the following issue: http://imgur.com/sUKGkik As you should be able to see I have the generator item selected, but it does not show up on the preview panel or on the import/export sprite page. http://imgur.com/a/883TP ^^ A selection of images from the generator folder (I can provide more or even specific ones if need be) ^^ I've re-installed MV and the generator has, surprisingly, stayed exactly the same. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Seriel 830 Posted June 19, 2016 If you want to recover the generator, try either -Installing MV to a different folder and copying the new files. -Or if you have it on steam (Which I see you do): 0. Close MV. 1. Select Properties from the right click menu. 2. Navigate to the Local Files tab. 3. Select "VERIFY INTEGRITY OF GAME CACHE" Steam will then validate all files and fix any missing or broken ones.
Antioch 33 Posted June 19, 2016 (edited) Jackus you beautiful thing, unfortunately the files still seem to be there, and not working. The problem with this is that it (Steam?) appears to recover files from somewhere, although I have made an effort to find a delete anything outside of my project files. I don't suppose that you know what the inherent issue with the files themselves is (i.e. why they are only showing up as preview images but not on the sprite-sheets themselves) to use as a possible workaround? Seriel 830 Posted June 19, 2016 Doesn't steam redownload all missing files? And all I know is each image has to have some weird version with all one colour with the filename ending in _c for some colour thingy. Besides that I don't know much about the generator, I haven't messed with it much.
Antioch 33 Posted June 19, 2016 The only fix was to manually delete the generator folder, since when I tried to just uninstall - reinstall nothing changed for some reason. Thanks for the help though, would have taken me a lot longer if I carried on brute-forcing it
