Sleepless 26 Posted July 28, 2016 (edited) Ohhhhh! Okay! For some reason I could have sworn that was already there... woopsie. ^^; Well, in that case I've got some races for you~ Name: Fairy Skin Color: Pale white; usually have light colored hair as well [ranges from fantastic shades of blue and green to normal ones like brown and blonde] Description: Friendly, kind, gracious, the Fairy kind are more than willing to help anyone in need. Often confused with their more devilish counterpart, the Faerie, they are mischievous in nature, though never mean any harm with their pranks. Fairies specialize in white magic, wind magic, light magic. Males and females of the species exist, and they live for exceptionally long amounts of time. They don't like hurting others, but will do so if it means protecting allies or themselves. Stats: Mid HP High Magic Points Mid Attack Mid Defense HIgh Magic Attack High Magic Defense High Agility Mid Luck Additional Information: Fairies usually equip staves, but can also use daggers, bows and arrows, or other light weight weapons, depending. Fairies can use healing magic, buffs, wind spells, and light spells. Using their wings, they are able to fly, thus making it easy for them to dodge attacks. They're about the same size as average humans. Their wings are often shiny/glittery and have the appearance of being 'see through'; their wing color always matches their hair color. Name: Faerie Skin color: Ghostly white; usually have dark colored hair as well [ranges from deep shades of red and purple to shades of black and dark blue] Description: Mean, deceptive, and cruel, the Faerie kind want nothing more than misfortune for those they come across. Often confused with their more friendly counterpart, the Fairy, these fiends love to steal and cheat their way to whatever it is that they desire. Faeries specialize in dark magic, wind magic, and fire magic. Males and females of this species exist, and they live for exceptionally long amounts of time. They often rob travelers blind, or outright murder them for fun. Stats: Mid HP High Magic Points High Attack Low Defense High Magic Attack Low Magic Defense High Agility Low Luck Additional Information: Faeries usually equip swords, but can also equip axes, spears, and other medium weight weapons. Faeries can use dark magic, debuffs, wind spells, and fire spells. Using their wings, they are able to fly, thus making it easy for them to dodge attacks. They're about the same size as average humans. Their wings are often shiny/glittery and have the appearance of being 'see through'; their wing color always matches their hair color. More info! So, this all came about when I was trying to figure out what exactly the difference was between Faeries and Fairies. Apparently, one is evil and the other isn't. Huh. So that's where this confusing mess came from! You'd probably subtly pronounce the words differently [ex fay-rie and fair-e], but since RPG games all have text in them, this nuance wouldn't be needed [it might just confuse characters inverse until it's explained to them the difference]. Anywho, maybe only have one in your game and not both, but I think I might just to both for the heck of it =P. Hope this helps~ Edited July 28, 2016 by Sleepless
Jeanne d'Ys 166 Posted August 17, 2016 THREAD PLEASE DON'T BE KILL. (That grammar...) Anyway, I think Faerie and Fairy's difference is just in spelling. The Britons had a long ancient history with languages and spelling, and the ensuing split/Roman's arrival/Christianization didn't help. For example, the mythological figure Morrigan has been known to be spelt Morrighan, and St. Brigid has also been Brighid and Bridget. Not that it's stopping me in branching the races XDD Races: Fay Skin: Varied. Some accounts have told that they have fair skin, while others said that it's really pale, or "pretty normal", and others said they're rather dark or brown, so it's kinda all over the place. Description: Most of the Fays are actually rather peaceful, they just don't like being disturbed. Like human, they are dynamic creatures; there have been accounts of Fays helping human soldiers in wars or assisting clerks in brewing concoctions, while others are tricksters, rogues, or even hardened criminals. Many scholars and mages believe they're pretty close to human's lineage and have the same ancestors, which was split somewhere in time beyond memories. While they are more magic-attuned than humans, they actually have decent physical attributes too, although they are really vulnerable to human disease and can't eat most human foods. Stats: Low HP High SP Decent ATK Low DEF High MAT Decent MDF Decent AGI High LUK Additional Info: They are good at making charms, because they can easily imbue their magic power into things. Fays having charm-forging as a hobby or profession was a fad last decade, and still is in certain cities and kingdoms. Most of them have crystal clear singing voice; Fay singers and bards are very popular around larger cities, in opera houses, and wandering/staying musical troupes. Most of them love coffee for some reason. Some minorities who survived cheese also said that they love the food. Although they mainly use "human" languages, the Fays also have their own [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] language (font not supported).
HeckHound 61 Posted August 27, 2016 (edited) Class: Taoist Archetype: Warrior Role: Physical Damage Dealer Concept: The Taoist is a martial master that has honed their body into a weapon and are followers of the Way of the Twin Dragons, Five Elements. In combat, the Taoist has two ways - the Twin Dragons - to be effective: * The Dragon of Creation - Utilising this method, the Taoist follows the cycle of creation in order to regain health, build up Qi - their resourse - and their offensive power through buffs. The further down the cycle they go, the stronger the buffs (up to a limit). The cycle is Fire > Earth > Metal > Water > Wood > Fire. For example, Fire Palm followed by Stone Fist. * The Dragon of Destruction - Utilising this method, the Taoist follows the cycle of destruction consumes health, Qi and buffs in order to boost their offensive power. The further down the cycle they go the more damage they deal. The cycle is Metal > Wood > Earth > Water > Fire > Metal. For example, Fire Palm followed by Steel Defence. Breaking either cycle removes all buffs. Each element has two techniques and each technique has an effect depending on which cycle it is used in. For example: * Fire Palm, Cycle of Creation - Deliver a palm strike, dealing damage, and gaining Qi and Burning Spirit (a constant buff that generates an additional point of Qi each turn). * Fire Palm, Cycle of Destruction - Consumes a Metal buff and Qi. Deliver a palm strike, dealing additional damage based on Qi consumed. Edited August 28, 2016 by HeckHound
Guyver 65 Posted August 28, 2016 Name: The Occultist Race/Type: Humanoid Story(optional): The Occultist appears as a world boss in my game, he can only be beaten after a certain side quest has been finished and a recipe from that side quest has been crafted. He, a cultist with who had forsaken his name for power from a dark and otherworldly dimension, wishes to sink the world into the depths of insanity. You can only defeat him if you're wearing a Band of the Master, which inflicts the blind status effect on you and prevents the insanity debuff. If you gaze upon him even once, you will go insane and endlessly attack until the party is dead. You cannot gaze upon something which you cannot see though, which is the lesson learned from the previous sidequest to earn the Band of the Master recipe. Stats: Being a boss enemy, all of his stats are incredibly high and will shift depending on the level of your party, but will not go below certain thresholds. Since my game is currently going through a large overhaul of enemy stats and skill sets, I'll just leave it up to your imagination.

Lord Vectra 414 Posted March 1, 2020 The classes/skills from the subthreads have been added finally. I'm going to sleep, but I will be working on taking the ideas from the comments of this thread and adding them to the library.
PhoenixSoul 1,404 Posted March 1, 2020 Here's a weapon that might make you wonder where I get my ideas from... Sakulura'nanzyo Essentially a large, four-ended shuriken attached to a chain that has a whip handle. Type: Ranged, Lash/Slash/Steel Effective Against: Beasts, Exoskeletals, Avians, Humanoids, anything not heavily armored or shielded.
Lord Vectra 414 Posted April 27, 2020 By the way, everyone, I am updating the library, but as some of you may know by now, after the forum remake, the spoilers and/or contents within the spoilers were deleted meaning I had to hunt down ideas from external posts and then re-add them back into the library. So far, all classes have been added and almost all the skills have been added. After I finish skills, the remaining sections like Armor, Weapons, Enemies, etc, should all be done in one day given how small they are for now. So please, continue to comment ideas, and I promise they will be added to the library. ^_^
