Okay, I played every game, and I'm sure you're dying to know my all important opinion. so here goes...

First blet me congratulate those few who survived the duo dev contest. It was a harsh battle and we faced many loses. But here we are, the proud few. Let's go in order of appearance:

Eric in the sea 2:Forget the contest, forget the 0 in teamwork and give this man the prize. Eric in the sea 2 is hilarious, polished and just fun in every respect.

The evil ones: It has a great atmosphere, but sadly, there's not much else that can be said of this sadly incomplete game. You can only walk a few empty (though well mapped) rooms.

Jackus ♥ Zelly: a lot of love obviously went into this game and it certainly has quite a bit of charm, the slow unbalanced battles are its achilles heel, tho.

One wish: I don't know why you're deprecating yourself so much Jackus. You made a pretty good and polished game with an interesting premise. You're a good RMer and developer in general. It's kinda sad we'll probably never see it finished, tho.

I'd like to have music commission from me withdrawn from the prize pool, please.

I simply do not have the time right now, and, unless the recipient would be okay with waiting months, I simply cannot do it.
Sorry about that. :/

So what? Neither does mine. :P

Seriously, though, the difference is not as big a difference as you think, your game is easily my second favourite of the ones submitted and who knows how good it would have been had you finished it. Besides, while Eien did a great game that doesn't reduce one bit the merits of your own work. There's no point in comparing, dude.

Be proud of what you did and appreciate your own improvements.

Welp, those were dark times. :o

Nah, basically I get what you're saying. It's just that at the time because that and.. other things, I was kinda in a bad way. Hence the sloppy grammar and lack of effort put into that post.

So I here we are, incredibly late because of circumstances (like having to skip town due to a situation involving the other side of the country I live in). Nonetheless, the entries are in, the judging has been finished, and many people have dropped out of this contest! It was a brutal battle, a war to be remembered, material that would make Mel Gibson squeal as he attempts to buy the rights to this movie, for this was indeed, the most epic contest on the internet!

…Or how I wished it to be.

Anyways, without further ado, we’re going to list the results!

RANKINGS

First Place – 76/100

Team Never Second Again – Missing Pendant

Most definitely the best all-around entry here, this game is so incredibly well-rounded, and considering how much time you guy spent making this, it shows that you guys are capable of making realistic goals and meeting them. Considering you two were considering dropping out, we are glad that you two decided to finish the contest instead. Congratulations, you are not second!

Second Place – 65/100

Team Procrastination – Eric in the Sea 2

The great sequel to the game filled to the brim with memes, this entry was hilarious. However, considering the purpose of this contest and all, amongst many other things we found wrong about this game, it was difficult to give this game the first place medal. Nonetheless, this entry shows that when in doubt, Eric is indeed the hero every game development contest needs, even if he is not the hero we deserve.

Third Place – 54/100

Team Kloe and Zelock – Jackus Heart Zelly

A game that has a lot going for it – the gameplay is definitely the most fleshed out, but it’s marred with balance issues. Nonetheless, the best way to describe this game is “heartwarmingâ€. It has a lot of personality that’s very visible to the hosts here. It is also the biggest project here, and Host One is reminded of a certain entry in a contest a few months ago – this is the new kingdom in the mountain, in so many ways that Host One is uncomfortable about it.

Fourth Place – 53/100

Team Evil Alliance – The Evil Ones

The sad thing about this entry is that while the above three entries can be considered “complete†games, for all intents and purposes, this one could not. The shame is that this game was easily the prettiest of the entries, and definitely earned the highest art score given throughout this contest.

Fifth Place – N/A

Team Cookie Conductor Confluence

Team Saltwater Poutine

Team DinoMitches

Team Tarqeo

For those who have fallen in battle, I give you this song:

Duo Dev to Fallen Teams~

Duo Dev to Fallen Teams~

Take your plans and thoughts and put your think caps on~

Duo Dev to Fallen Teams (ten, nine, eight, seven, six)~

Commencing countdown, devving on (five, four, three)~

Check your dev plans and may your dreams be with you (two, one, liftoff)~

This is Duo Dev to Fallen Teams~

You’ve really made the grade~

And the papers wants to know what stopped you there~

Now it’s time to leave the coffins, if you’re there~

This is Fallen Teams to Duo Dev~

I’m stepping through the door~

And I’m devving in the a most peculiar way~

And the sprites look very different today~

For here, am I sitting in a bedroom~

An office or den~

Game devving is hard~

And there’s not much else to do~

Though I’m past one hundred thousand events~

I’m feeling very still~

And I think my game dev’s coming to an end~

Tell my team that they know what to do, they know~

Duo Dev to Fallen Teams~

Your game dev’s dead, there’s something wrong~

Can you hear me, Fallen Teams?

Can you hear me, Fallen Teams?

Can you hear me, Fallen Teams?

Can you~

Here am I sleeping in a bedroom~

Dreaming of success~

Game devving is fun~

But there’s not much else to do~

…

/sniffs

And that’s all folks! Thanks for coming out this way! First place winners, be sure to PM me your choice of prizes, and then I’ll reach out to the second and third places for their picks!

Thank you all again!

Good night!

/applause sounds can be heard

You are a true poet, Yuugami. I'm quite shocked we won actually. Congratulations to everyone who participated and a solem mourning to the ones who could not make it to the finishing line.

Thanks a lot for the contest Retnuh and Yuugami and I hope that if you ever make another one, you'll have a lot of finished entries to chose from.

We won ... I really can't believe it.

Congrats on Nirwanda who made almost everything and still even had to beta-test my stuff while I was fighting against sleep.
I'm curious to know if you catch the enemy behavior I coded , I wanted to add some explanations but didn't get time to do it.

it shows that you guys are capable of making realistic goals and meeting them.

This is the most hilarious quote ever.
You will understand why if I manage to release the demo for the other game we were making but there is comission I need to finish first

See Yuugami, I told you it was Missing Not-missing Pendant. It was the only game that had eggplants. :P

Team Never Second Again was indeed never second again! Grats Nir and Shiggy!
And grats to Kloe and Zelly too!

...And grats to everyone who managed to submit an entry!

When in doubt, call upon ERIC. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

---

The amazingness of EITS2 aside, it would have been silly to give 1st place to the entry which had no teamwork in a contest about teamwork, indeed.
Its dev time was less than a week, only barely surviving due to Host One's extensions. It's still a deadline panic project pulled out of my ass like the first one

every time i say the word silly, i think of riki

Wait, where are the individual scores for each category? Can we see them?

Also, when's Duo Dev Deux?

Yes, please name it that. I told Retnuh about it. topkek

Stay tuned for more ERIC IN THE SEA 2...

( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Are low dev times and deadline panic projects a bad thing ?

*whispers to Nir* Ok,let's grab the forum badges and run away before they notice anything

But seriously I was looking back at the discord log and it's super funny.

First we have the enthusiasm of making a game despite having no time left, then there is the brainstorming session then it's pretty silent because we are busy deving and then there is the big rush at the end to fix the stuff I did wrong.

I wouldn't mind sharing the log in a blog post if Nirwanda agrees and you are curious about it. But maybe it sucks and I'm biased because it was fun memories ^_^

I'm pretty sure you all know how important the magic of friendship there is. =3

Too bad I couldn't team up with myself and make Team 'Friendship Forever Alone'. =3

Or... I should team up with my brother and make something explosive.. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
