Xarxaal 3 Posted July 21, 2016 (edited) ~Question time!~ I have been delving into RPG Maker VXAce and I have been hearing about plugins for it to change the way the game works and runs to do all kinds of shiny things. So for someone who has never used a plugin for this. Can someone tell me where would be the best place to go or a good starting point to get savvy with these mystical tools that are plugins? Do you mean scripts? Just search up google and lots of script will pop out! I suggest you to search for Yanfly's script and Galv's.
Xarxaal 3 Posted July 21, 2016 Ah, Yes those! Thank you! I haven't the foggiest on how to use them... yet! But this gives me a starting point.

Plugins are for RPG Maker MV while RPG Maker VX Ace uses Scripts. It's the same thing but it's just different for each engine. As for the best place to go or good starting point for scripts, you can check out the scripts made by: Me Galv Victor Sant DoubleX
+ JuJu 73 Posted July 23, 2016 the bible of scripts for VX Ace A lot of them are plug and play, but some are more advanced, so be warned. Good codes (aka most all of these) tell you what it does and the instructions in the top comments, but sometimes it does help to have some basic programming knowledge (or at least how to read programs) Thankfully, a lot of it is also self-explanatory! Also, from one user to another, a handy piece of advice: keep a list somewhere of all the scripts that you use (and the names so that you credit the writers in your credits, naturally!), and think hard about what your game might require! it doesn't help to bog the game down with lots of scripts that the player might not use at all. It might seem daunting at first, but it's really not that hard once you get the hang of it!
