Yea, it's 1:25pm where I am. Just finished work so eagerly waiting to see what I can get done.

Also; quick note;

My manager gave me extra hours this week (convenient) so I'm working twice as much this week than before. I apolgose in advance for any lack-of on my end. Was really looking forward to this haha.

Anyway, I have a brief game concept ready to be implemented so I'm looking forward to this~

its fine jackus always says so long as u have a decent working game, that plays with about an hr of game time, then you are good. if u wanted after the contest is over u can work more on it to make it better and into a full game.

it's 6PM and jackus is nowhere to be seen ;(.

In that case, everyone is now able to start their projects.

Hope he's doing good however. This challenge's entry count is kinda high. Hope the judges aren't overwhelmed either.

Apologies for any confusion with time zones and wrong timers.

Game making period begins NOW (or 29 minutes ago)

If you started making anytime in the past 29 minutes, continue.

If you didn't, start now.

Because of this, the end time will be half an hour later than planned

Happy game making! :lol:

It started already? I thought there was 23 minutes left? (according to Nyuuchan's timer)

Anyways...

Only going to start making the game tomorrow. I had a bummer today... Why did it had to start on a Sunday?!

Because Jackus isn't around, this will be a reminder for him.

The following people have not been added:

  • Zielach
  • Aletheos

Will be updated as needed. You guys are in the contest, but Jackus has not added you to the OP list of contestants.

This list will be updated as needed for the rest of the day, and any sign-ups that happen BEFORE 18:00 hours (6PM), GMT (UK).

Any entries after that time will not be logged here, as sign-ups will have closed, and the contest started.

You have been warned. :P

It's18:00 hours , not 1800 hours

Why did it had to start on a Sunday?!

Because the topic can only be posted when I have free time, which happened to be a Sunday. And it starts a week after the topic goes up.

Either one is true, dude. It depends on what sort of clock you're looking at (military or not).

True.

6:00pm is correct for general digital timestamping.

1800 is military/24 hour clock. They don't include the dots to prevent any confusion (plus, they pronounce it "eighteen hundred" so putting dots isn't relevant)

Anyway, happy game developing everyone!

Tsarmina! Noes! "I'll start tomorrow". That's the trap that leads to last minute development xD

The correct 24-hour format clock is 18:00, not 1800. You don's say 600PM, now do you?

Only the USA and some few countries use the 12-hour format.

600PM no, but 1800 hours yes.

Have fun.

Either way - Your correction "18:00 hours" doesn't seem correct for me. At least that's not how it works in Poland I believe. 18 hours or 18.5 hours yes, but not 18:00 / 18:30 hours, though of course, I may be mistaking, but that's not important anyway.

By the way:

It's don't, not don's. You don't say don's.

*multiple explosions covering the whole screen*

Just kidding ~  but do not derail the topic with this anymore... You can make a thread with this if you desire. ;)

Well... All I did so far is to open project, click one thing and... well that's all my progress for now. I don't think I'll be able to make a game  but well. x3

My correction is correct. Check this clock if you don't believe me http://www.euramtec.com/parts/d/d02/image/DBC201_render.jpg

18.5 is how you would say 18:30. Back to the topic, anyone here has some good intro and a few battles?

My intro is going swimmingly.

And because I hate it when I see people who are wrong, when you say 6:00 PM in military, it is 1800. They don't do AM or PM, for that matter. If you wanted to say 6:00 AM, it's 0600.

You don't say 600pm, because of the formatting :P My boyfriend and I were in the army for a short bit, so as far as I am aware, it's 1800. If you were to say 2am, it would be 0200 (oh-two hundred hours). it may be different depending on countries, but that is how it's pronouced and written here. The : is pointless in the 24-hour format :P

I guess it varies who depending on where you are from~

Back on topic however;

I have the first section mapped but nothing special added to it. Just essentials.

No plugins yet either, but battles will be added as I go.

I have work tonight and for the next two nights, so progress will be slow until Thursday ;-; My only days off are Thursday and Saturday this week so time is restricted Dx

I'm curious how everyone is handling the lack of theme. Would open a variety of games :3

   I didn't really get started yesterday either. Plan for today is to map everything for the game. I hate mapping, so hopefully by getting it done first I'll be more productive along the way than if it were left to be done til nearly the end. I seem to have an unfair advantage, the family is off visiting relatives out of state and free time is more plentiful than it's ever been this week. Hopefully I won't squander it.

@people arguing over clocks

you don't use them while speaking no, but the : doesn't just disappear on the clock when you set it to 24-hour time either. In a lot of places that's the standard format for clocks, so while for people like us whose only exposure to that format is within the military 1800 may appear more familiar, 18:00 is still the technically correct way to write it as that's how it would appear on a clock.
