Illusionist 1 Posted September 18, 2016 (edited) Historia Manis: The Gran Serena Crisis Abstract: During diplomatic talks in the city of Gran Serena, hideous monsters begin to flow out of the castle basement and the citizens are trapped inside the city behind walls of black fire. A foreign Knight investigates with the help of a local shaman, a general, a thief, a healer, and a mysterious man investigates what led to this event.Genre: Fantasy RPGGame Progression: Story is planned and development has begun.Recruitment: An artist for Character busts and facesets, Story and Setting The Universe, Manis, and the Asterflies The game takes place on the world of Manis. Manis is the sole planet in an empty and otherwise dead universe, the only way life thrives on Manis is due to the Asterflies, small spheres of light and energy that give warmth and light to Manis and are found in abundance all over Manis. the Asterflies orginate from a place known as.the Celestial Mass. Manis is circled by a wave of Asterflies called the Grand Stream in 12 hour periods simply called 'days'. Every 120 days the Amount of Aterflies in the Grand Stream change, when there are less it is the cold season and when their numbers are greater it is the warm season. Two seasons make a Cycle and three cycles is called a Stream, which takes it's name from the Stream Shower, a influx of Asterflies from the Celestial Mass. that occurs at the start of a new Stream. Manis is divided into two sides the Fertile Side and the Dry Side, as their names suggest the Fertile side is lush and brimming with life and the Dry side is a massive desert. Most humans on Manis live on the Fertile side. Shamans Shamans are people who are trained to use asterflies to heal, to defend or to enchant objects to make fetishes. They are revered as healers and scholars. Quasi-Humans Quasi Humans are human like beings who are said to know the origin of the world. they are the original Shamans and are master fetish makers. Black Asterflies and Apparitions Black Asterflies or Asterflies of Destruction are a rare form of Asterfly. It is unknown what causes them to appear but they often will condense into beings called Apparitions, dangerous monsters that exist only to destroy. Nations of Manis and the current situation Manis is divided into 6 nations. the Republic of Prokelar which controls most of the Dry side and the Prokelan Penisula on the western edge of the Fertile Side, The Frigo Empire which controls the northernmost reaches of Manis, the Kingdom of Serena which lies south of Frigo's fertile side territory and is ruled by the respected Sage King, the Aristocracy of Stefina which controls the eastern lands, the Kingdom of Navaste in the south and finally the mysterious isle Copernia. which lies between the other nations. Prokelar and Frigo are military nations and rivals, they have been at war many times in the past the most recent being 6 streams ago, and even though they are currently at peace tensions are rising over Prokelar stationing troops near Frigo's ally Stefina's borders. Navaste as an ally of Prokelar has also stationed ships in the eastern seas near Stefina. Copernia being threatened by Frigo's navy has also allied itself with Prokelar. Serena is a pacifistic nation who only act in self defense and have acted as neutral ground and is often a place where summits and other diplomatic talks are held. Fearing world war the Sage King calls for a summit in the Serena's capital City of Gran Serena. Lord General Evaan of Frigo, Consul Maximilian Bradley of Prokelar, and Prince Julian of Navaste all agree to meeting at the summit. The Fertile Side of Manis Player Characters Main Cast Altair ban Strega Knight Commnader of Frigo, known to his countrymen as Sir Alt the Stoic. He accompanies his old friend Lord General Evaan ban Frigo to Gran Serena for the summit. He is a quiet, thoughtful man, who cares deeply for his men and country He is known for his resilience and vitality in combat. 28 Streams old. Elian Sai A young Shaman apprentice and a citizen of Gran Serena. She is the daughter of the King's former Shaman You Sai and is the the apprentice of Yan, the king's current Shaman. She is proud yet compassionate and wishes to follow in her fathers footsteps as the King's Shaman. She is skilled in using asterflies for self defense. 22 Streams old Peri A Copernian Quasi-Human who has come to Gran Serena after noticing a sharp increase in Black Asterflies and suspects Frigo of being involved. As a Quasi-Human Peri is very old and very knowledgeable, he doesn't talk about himself and seems to hide a dark past, but is rarely in low spirits even when things look bad. Using his bow he can accurately strike and cripple his enemies by enchanting arrows into fetishes. Alexander Gris A Navastian General accompanying Navaste's Crown Prince to Gran Serena as his escort. He is brash and quick to anger but acts more composed around his subordinates in order to set a good example. An experienced soldier he wields his spear with deadly efficiency. 35 streams old Alma Rose A Stefinan thief and spy, she was hired for a job in Gran Serena, what that job is only her and her client know. Alma is smart and persuasive but rarely reveals anything she feels to be valuable information. She is quick on her feet and can steal items from enemies, 26 streams old Shara Browning A young Prokelan Shaman, she accompanies Minister Bradley as his healer due to him being quite ill. She is naive and rather dense, but is also quite friendly and humble. 18 streams old. Guests Lord General Evaan ban Frigo Lord General of the Frigan Army, nephew of the Emperor, second in line to the imperial throne. A skilled combatant and commander despite his young age during the 23rd Prokelar war he led a successful military campaign which led to Frigan acquisition of Prokelar's arichalcum rich northern territories. 30 streams old Franz Herz A frigan soldier under Alt's command. He is jovial and a heavy drinker. 27 streams old Yuri Roman A Frigan soldier under Alt's command. He is serious and a skilled combatant. 36 streams old Rajn A former child slave who fought in illegal coliseum fights. He was taken in by Evaan after the coliseum was shut down by the Frigan Government. He became Evaan's squire and now holds the position of Knight Captain. He rarely shows emotion and his skill with a sword is matched by few. 20 streams old Karl ban Stin A Knight under Evaan's direct command and Rajn's partner Unlike his mostly silent partner Karl is lively and outgoing and comes from a noble family. He is not as skilled as Rajn when it comes to swordplay but is more skilled in defense than him. Yan Fei The Sage King's Shaman. He comes from the port town of Reiven which was burned to the ground by Navastian troops in an attempted invasion 50 streams ago. Yan was heavily burned in the attack and wears heavy clothes to hide his scarred form. He has a no nonsense personality and strives to learn all he can about Shamanism. He is 63 streams old.
