Vessel Crytals

Not many can use magical powers at will. Various gems hold a certain potent energy in them that helps "boost" the users mana flow. Having a weak spirit but a strong vessel can make you a semi-decent mage with your trained for it. However a weak spirit and a weak crystal may not work at all.

It has a wonderfully timeless/classical feel to it. *w* I'm super curious about this King. I wish there was more info on the present-day activities of these cool characters :) The division of races is very interesting--I like how you mixed normal RPG races like elves with a race of your own (unless Al'Furians are just a race I don't know about. lol)

The current day King is the main "villian" of the game so I don't want to reveal too much of it, but I was people to give feedback/ideas/improvements, ect so if more information is required, I can share ;P

The timeline is supposed to be an old fantasy based time (since thats my favorite type of rpg genre haha). Once I get some maps finished up, I'll be sharing those too~

Thanks.

Yea, there are "sub races" within each race (such as Elves being Wood Elves, Dark Elves, Void Elves) but yea. Al'Furians are original (atleast, I never looked them up or anything xD) and there are a few, smaller races but those aren't the "main" races.

I#m hoping to follow a general RPG Fantasy style, with some extra touches (one touch being, my Dwarves can use magic since they were exposed to digging out the magical infused ores/gems, and basically increased there ability to use magic freely).

Alot of pieces are needing connected or being corrected/tweeked, so anything you don't understand/are kinda "meh" about, feel free to share ;)

Each region/race is more skilled in a certain craft, but that doesn't mean that every single being of that race can do it. It's more a trading thing for each region and what future playable characters can contribute to the story.

Thanks Tsarmina! :D

Classic RPG story. I like the old school stories. My game has that classic feel, too. My question is: What is special about you're

game? What will make people choose you're game over all he other traditional RPG's out there?

I tend to make the story kinda serious. It sounds kinda typical on paper, but I'm hoping the mechanics and such I add, as well as characters themselves make it more enjoyable.

I will admit though - I'm following the "typical jrpg" format since I really like those games, and technically speaking, this is my first game I ever started. I just procrastinated for about 3 years xD

For now, the general idea for features are;

 - Material gathering (foraging, woodcutting, mining, ect.)

 - Crafting (enemies don't drop money, so you make money by gathering logical loot from enemies and either selling the raw materials, or craft and sell your products)

Your start of killing beast-type enemies, so you will get stuff like hides. Using these hides, you can craft some weak armour and upgrade your gear instead of spending your money on the item itself (money should be valuable basically).

Each skill will also have a level. So you can level up your skills to craft higher tiered stuff. Higher tier sells for more money, but the materials to make it are more expensive also.

My main problem so far is my writing skills are kinda sucky. I have a mass amount of ideas and stuff, but getting the ideal across will be my problem. I have a friend who's supposed to help, but I see him on a rare occasion xD

I'm still working on a lot of kinks such as trying to maake the crystal concept less... generic, but the crystals were a huge part of the original idea so I don't want to start removing them.

Also custom art :D hopefully xD

Crystals are about as cliché as you can get. If you want to go old school, I'd say keep them. Cliches are fine as long as you balance things with some originality. Customer artwork would be a big pus, especially for an RM game. The crafting system sounds interesting. Having it be the player's best or only source of income ensures it won't just be some tacked on mechanic that's there for the sake of being there. Mine are kinda like that, but that's because I wanted them to be optional. You can go through the entire game without crating a single thing or even unlocking the classes that can craft in the first place.

Story is usually the biggest thing that sets an RPG apart from others. If you create some interesting battle mechanics, that'll go a long way, too.

Writing is my thing so feel free to ask for input  ^_^

I still have to write up the official "script" of the game, but I already have alot of the big events planned out :)

Once I eventually write the storyboard for it, I'll be sure to send it your way Lone ;P Especially if you can help avoid those "hateful jrpg moments".

I've always loved the old fantasy style games and crafting is an additional love for me. Alot of the games nowadays though are being more modern or future-y and don't really do the "old fantasy" style anymore. That's kinda why I wanna stick to my "generic RPG Fantasy" style - because I love it. Can't have fire breathing dragons and goblins attack you in 2050 can you? xD

Yea. As much as FFXIII's gil hoarding annoyed me, I liked the fact I wasn't sitting on a ton of money (cough, FFVII's 7mil, cough). i enjoyed the concept of money being valued. Shiggy made me a plugin to match my idea too which kinda indicates you have gold, silver and copper instead of G. If you have a gold coin - you are loaded xD

The crafting being used as both a means of extra crafting (some items only avilable through crafting) ect.

Thanks Lone :D
