Makara 96 Posted February 2, 2017 Hey everyone. Every community, wether it's RPG Maker or something else, one or multiple forums, has drama somewhere. Plagiarisms, stolen content, copy cats, thieves, love affairs, anything is possible. Like the mysteries of Khas Arcthunder suddenly disappearing! Or Kaus having taken trees from a children's cover book or whatever it was........ or beginners kiddies demanding people to make them a whole library of assets for a game they probably won't complete. No offense to anyone of course. I'm not talking about anyone specific, just being general. I mean, once I bumped into a thread on RPGMAKER.net where some guy was demanding for homestuck trolls 12 sprites to be done for him. When confronted, he went on about how he couldn't make them because he was busy working on a different project. Just a few minutes ago I bumped into a video about a community that I used to visit daily a few years back, a WoW Emulation forum. Maybe some of you know, but World of Warcraft is a game that people love to make private servers out of and make custom content for. One day, a team got together to rebuild updates from WoW version 6.2 onto WoW version 3.5.5, so it would have the old game mechanics, but keep the latest content. Suddenly, they just dropped the project and sold it to a dude Cydia for 800 quid. His knowledge on the matter was so low that he begged for help. People obviously helped because it was free access into a big project. So someone offered him a server and so on, eventually the server's owner stole off the files and shut the server. Recently, a new server arose with the same name and logo (recoloured to red), same website but different game content. Obviously this made the forum I used to visit tremble a tiny bit in laughter because the project in genera has already been leaked so much that it's laughable to make something out of it. Made me remember that drama is something that is present in everyday life, real life, and virtual life. It can be funny and unfunny. It's like watching a video compilation of people falling and hurting themselves on youtube. So I made this post. Because I like gossip to hear stories. + Takeo212 1,079 Posted February 2, 2017 I actually recall reading a topic about a guy wanting x sprites made and saying he was working in a different topic, yet he really needed the sprites soon. It used to be a common problem on here to be honest. When i first joined this forum, the request boards got spammed daily with people wanting - essentially - someone to create their game for them. For free. And they still demanded/complained. I loved helping people, but it get's kinda tedious and unfun to help people. I kinda miss helping out in the resource department actually (everyone wants sprites xD I can't sprite) On a side note; not sure this topic will last long Flashy. If I recall correctly - Kaz doesn't like "drama" topics incase they led to some unwanted drama, basically. i could be wrong though 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Makara 96 Posted February 2, 2017 (edited) Hey Takeo! Could it be this topic? Long ago I searched for these kind of sprites (homestuck), and this was on top of my search results on google. It even sounds like he's trolling. Recently I saw a post of a guy demanding for some sprites that sounded like it was going to take a lot of work, didn't even say please or offer payments, I only wrote that he should say please and stuff but he never replied xD I love helping people too, it is definitely fun, when I used to play WoW I'd go to noob areas and teach new players about the game, but it does get tedious and unfun when people start exaggerating and being demanding I guess this links to the reason why so many outsiders dislike RPG Maker, people can't bother to learn how to make their own resources so they make half-bothered games then stomp it on youtube as if it was a great AAA game, and try to sell it on Steam as if they were gonna make thousands... I didn't know that well, I'm not going to fight anyone in case the topic gets deleted or locked, I understand if it's disliked due to it's theme, though to make it clear, I'm not trying to start drama - just debate and share drama stories that have happened in the whole RM community in general, in this forum, official forum, other RM forums, steam, youtube, anywhere else really that can be considered perhaps either funny or feel like a small sigh to let out an opinion on the topic. ______________ Ermaghed guyes, pls maek all pokemans spritus for me plis in MV <33 <3333 <333333 <33 i luv u fur lief, im guiing tu mek pokeman 2.0 and sell it on steamu ______________ The topic I linked makes me laugh too much than it should.
