Looks like someone's been busy.  :) Custom character portraits and expressions? Whaaaa? Custom art is always a big plus. At least then it's done well. I'd say you're succeeding in that department thus far. The 3D maps are interesting. Is the player going to be moving in three dimensions, too? 3d characters? I'm not used to seeing 3d games in this community. It's seriously messing with me.   :blink: I'm so used to seeing traditional RTP or parallax maps. What engine are you going to use?

 

Storywise, there was already a very long conversation 'bout that. The more I think of it though the more I wonder why Rippoume doesn't just kill them all to begin with if the threat is that great. Maybe he's just compassionate enough that he doesn't want to kill innocent people or maybe there's a more sinister reason. At face value, it's a pretty big plot hole so I'm hoping you have a good way to fill it.

I've been ... rather busy , effectively haha . But saddly , with college it is taking more time than expected . But thank you for complimenting me on this point , it is sincerely flattering my already tremendous ego , haha ! Now concerning the 3D part , the game will be made using RPG maker engine  so , these maps will be mere flat 3D backgrounds and 2D sprites will be implemented . Still faithful to the visual novel genre .

Now for the storyline , I will use a good old saying which is : "dont judge a book by its cover" . It will be my job to render a fitting , fullfilled storyline , and it will be the player's job to discover it .

I am doing my best for people to enjoy this forthcoming project . ^v^

Hmm... looks very good. Some friendly advise, your characters makes noise with every dialog box. It can be something effect full as it draws attention to what they are saying but for a prolonged time it will get tiresome and the player fazes it out. This aspect could be better used to highlight key aspects of the dialog and it will feel less busy. When a lot is happening constantly either in the audio or visuals the brain normalizes it after a while and then you no longer register it. Think about it, by cutting back a little there is less work for you and the game will be better for it.

 

But hey, it is just one Cookie Ninjas opinion and I don't know if others agree. ;)

 

Aside from that. I'm very impressed with your work!

Is it just me or the art is feel like Danganronpa somehow? Anyway that's my favorite series.... Chiaki best waifuuuu

Anyway it's impressive i'm looking forward to this game ^_^

After looking at the screenies, I gotta ask; Are your backgrounds all 3D modeled, or did you draw them to look 3D? (nothing bad of course, just curious).

 

The amount of work you do it amazing though. You push out alot of content for your game(s) and it's admirable to see a your art filled passion~

Makes me miss my drawing days ;P

 

I don't mind the text sounds (I played alot of Animal Crossing hehe) and since you have brief voices during it, it's not to bad. I actually think it breaks up the audio SE's a bit having variance. 

It's nice that you use the busts frequently too. You keep the characters alive by having them change/move frequently.

In future dialogue, i suggest adding some colours to the text to highlight key parts, just to keep the players attention. You have enough going on to keep the players attention, with nothing overly flashy which is good.

The characters will only emit sounds occasionally , it was just a showcase video to show that "Wooooah , woaaaaa ! There are voices !" . It is mere show-off haha . Also , I will try to implant an option menu to allow the player to change the volume of the BGM and the voice clips .

Story short , I had once created a story similar to Danganronpa unconsciously . A friend then made me notice it and introduced me to Danganronpa and I happened to like it . The more I would watch Danganronpa the more I would start using the same artstyle without noticing it . What an engrossing story isn't it ? Haha (By the by , Chiaki best waifu , and so are Sonia and Kirigiri !)

Haaaaa ! I am tremendously flattered that you noticed how much work is being put into this project . *A* ! 

 

And if you miss something , just get right back into it ! Surprisingly , there is always some time left for creativity .

Therefore , I shall now order you to grab your pencil or your graphic tab and to fuse with your lost hobby !

 

More seriously , those are modeled 3D backgrounds . And thank you for reminding me about the highlights ! I had completely forgotten about it !
