Basically, I'm making a humour-based game and need to figure out a whole bunch of skills, weapons, items and states. While I don't need much of a "team" for this project, I think multiple people putting their heads together would be super useful! (Feel free to make skills that both damage enemies and heal allies - I can do that.)

Current Weapon Types:
Basic - Basically, your basic weapons such as knives.
Explosive - If it makes your enemies go out with a bang, it goes here.
Tech - If it's technology, it goes here, especially if it's robotic in nature.
Special - It it's enchanted, paranormal or one-of-a-kind, it goes here.
Unconventional - Something you wouldn't normally use as a weapon, but could be used as a weapon, such as pool cues or vintage vinyl.
Oddly Convenient - You wouldn't normally reach for it, but it could be found in a shed - you know, like a cricket bat.
Electric - If it's shocking, it goes here. (I guess you could say these weapons are a real buzzkill for your enemies. Funny, right? Riiiight? Only me? Okay.)
Character Specific - The weapon is either Harpoon-related (has a chance to Bind an enemy using harpoons), Mirror-related (reflects damage back onto the enemy because logic) or Lucky (has a chance to add a variety of states to enemies).

Current Skill Types:
Technology - Technology Skills use technology equips and Tech Points.
Special - Special Skills are just special things for each character to do. One character mainly does damage skills, one character does a main combo of damage and shield skills and one character mainly has buff, debuff and healing skills.
Super Special - Super Special Skills are basically character-specific buffs and debuffs for that character only. One character can activate radioactive superpowers in the form of a minor boots to all of their stats or a major boost to one or two of them, one character can activate a monster form or possessed form and raise some of their stats and one character can summon help from beyond the grave in the form of zombies or vampires, significantly boosting their stats. I'd like more ideas for different things they could do for themselves.

Current Item Types:
Healing - Your basic healing items.
Damaging - Damages either a party member or an enemy.
Tech Chips - Use Tech Chips on your Technology Weapons to boost their stats.

Snake Oil - Needs to be identified before it cam be used. It's either a Healing or Damaging item.

I'll update this as more stuff is added and eventually add a list of each of these things, but go crazy with your ideas! I may change the names of some of the things, but don't let that stop you from making a name for your idea!

How about a 'Meme Wizard' character who's skills inadvertently damage ally and enemy alike because of how obnoxious they are? Maybe they can evolve into a memelord someday. ... Okay that is an awful idea for so many reasons. All the more reason to do it! Muahahahahahaha...

When talking about such things I always remember the hammer I got when playing Dungeon Siege. Hammer of stupidity.

I imagine it could be something that makes a player not understand tactics or spells, but could also lower enemy intelligence when hit so that they can't use spells or tactics.

Dragon Age 3 had a shield called "The Wedge of Destiny". It was a cheese wheel. :D

Jack in the Box

Skill type: Tech

Your typical Jack in the Box....packed with C4. Lays dormant for a few turns, then Blammo!

Weapon

Type: Special

Fairy Duster- A magically powered blaster. It works by placing a fairy inside the glass jar. A motion sensor detects the fairy and turns on the blender which grinds the fairy up and the magic energy is stored in a battery. Pull the trigger and blast your enemies with magic.

Weapon

Type: Electric

Stun Stick- Your typical electrically charged stick.

Healing Item: Anchovies and Onion Sandwich- Heals a moderate amount of health and grants the Halitosis state for several turns- your breath smells so bad, enemies target you less frequently.

Transformation Skill:

Woodland critter- Transform into an adorable little squirrel. An adorable little squirrel with Satanic powers.

Transformation skill:

Hippo- Basically an HP sponge. More resistant to Stun and Paralyze states, but vulnerable to Provoke.

Weapon: Basic?

Giant Mallet - Yes, like the one Harley Quinn uses.

Geez buddy, what did fairies do to you?  It's also a really horrible idea for a power source. If you wanted to use a fairy as a power source it's much better to keep them alive, attach special mana draining clamps on their wings, and set up a way to stimulate them so they release magic on the push of a button. It's so much less messy, you get more out of it long term, and you won't likely immediately have a fairy looking to grind you up slowly into meat pies while you are still being kept alive by magic as soon as they get a new body. A immortal with a grudge isn't a pleasant thing you know. When two immortals are involved there are reasons to avoid escalation least it ends up a huge endless cycle of violence that isn't fun for anyone (okay, isn't fun for most people), but with a mortal? We only have to win once. :P

You're forgetting one very key detail. Grinding fairies is just so much fun! :lol::lol:

I really, truly hope you didn't think the Fairy Grinder was supposed to make any sense whatsoever.

Technology Skill:

Hack- Hack an enemy robot to make it do your bidding. Basically a Charm state specifically for robots.

Super Special Radiation Skill:

Glow: Glow green with radiation increasing special attack power. If enemies hit you directly, they take a small amount of damage and possibly poisoned.

Special Shield Skill

'Murica! - A Captain America-esque shield toss.

Super Special Summon Skills:

Zombie Unicorn- No idea what it does

Reverse Merman- Umm... creeps people out..

Werehyena- Has a passive ability that increases attack damage based on enemy health. The less health an enemy has the higher the damage bonus

Asylum Ghost- A spooky ghost from an insane asylum. Good at inflicting Fear states and debuffs.

Okay how about these items:

Blood - Recover HP

Yellow Bile - Attack Up

Black Bile - Defense Up

Phlegm - Recover MP

... What? You said it was a humor-based game right?

Edit: On second thought maybe make them one time use stat powerup items?

Unconventional weapon- Tea cup

Ever see the movie "Riddick"? :P

Unconventional/Character specific weapon: Screwdriver- Scores critical hits more frequently. Allows use of a unique skill: Screw You!- Hits multiple times (which is deadly considering the base crit hate is increased.

Unconventional: Nail Gun - Do I really have to explain? If the harpoon-y dude equips it, it becomes the Nail Harpoon. Not sure how the harpoon mechanic is supposed to work in your game, but I'm sure you can think you some terrible thing to make it do.
