PhoenixSylph 123 Posted October 1, 2017 Hello there! I am new and looking to make friends! ^w^ I'd like people to chat with about RPG maker MV, and we can talk about exciting things and progress we are making on our project! >x>!~ Idk. I think it would be fun. O.O Right now I am working on my project, Quest of the feral queen! It's my first time using any RPG maker, and I'm having a lot of fun, so far i've worked through 2 maps of the first level, and now I'm working on a boss battle, and I went a lil ahead and made a town with some events ready to go. What is everyone else working on or brainstorming on?

lonequeso 1,921 Posted October 2, 2017 Now we have two Phoenixs! Not really working on much atm. Less free time and I usually don't feel like doing anything productive after a day of being productive. Welcome!
Knighterius 502 Posted October 5, 2017 Heya! There's a guy here that would usually say welcome to the group! And so, I'd like to say without further ado! Welcome to the group! All you need now is a profile picture, a nice lil profile page and comment on loads of stuff and you'll be making friends and devving in no time. Good luck, my friend. May the eventing be always in your favour.
PhoenixSylph 123 Posted October 6, 2017 (edited) I've been trying to add one and it's not even letting me T___T EDIT- fixed I think there was a process it had to go through first! Also ;x; does anyone know how to animate enemies either via sprites or "enemies' for troops? I was downloading https://forums.rpgmakerweb.com/index.php?threads/what-the-rtp-is-missing-mv-edition.59524/ content here and when I try to put in an enemy or troops, even though they made it so it's animated it just shows up as a giant block of the different frames... PhoenixSoul 1,404 Posted October 6, 2017 Welcome to Paradise. Ya like music? Hmmm...well, I'm one of those less-than-fortunate people that have to rely on ****************************** to get her needs met, so as a result, I have a computer that can't even run MV, but I do want to dabble in MV someday. I currently use VX Ace (and it is fantastic). Hopefully, we'll get along just splendidly.

Everythings going great but certain plugins are confusing but figuring out how to put animated sprites or enemies in my game is really confusing.
PhoenixSoul 1,404 Posted October 6, 2017 List of RM over the years... (Not all are software mind you and I may miss some that I'm not aware of) D&D (the original RPG Maker where everything is designed as the game is played! ) RPG Maker 95 (The earliest software I know of which was designed to work on Win 95/98) RPG Tsukuru 2000 RPG Tsukuru 2003 (has side-view battles as a standard system complete with animations) RPG MAKER (this is one of three console releases -that I know of- for the first and second generation Sony consoles) RPG MAKER 2 (this and the following were released on the PS2 only) RPG MAKER 3 (this was and I believe still is available via the PSN for the PS3) One thing worth mentioning about RPG MAKER 3 is that it is the ONLY iteration of the software that has a 3D aspect for gameplay. RPG Maker XP (the first -I believe- to use Ruby for programming) RPG Maker VX (graphical changes and addition of vehicles as well as an overall overhaul of the engine itself) RPG Maker VX Ace (mega overhaul and the default RTP uses ogg files for all music and sounds instead of the not so user-friendly MIDI files) RPG Maker MV (goes from Ruby to Javascript and changes the graphics a great deal but other than that I know little about it) Just thought I'd give that a mention; RM as software has been around for close to thirty years, if not longer, but D&D is the original RM (if only it is a tabletop thing which I find nothing wrong with).

My RPG is actually based off of my DND character, and a couple of my other ones are going to be in-game xDD

KaisoAri 78 Posted October 7, 2017 Allo and enjoy your stay! I've been working on and off my project. I finished mapping out both chapters of a demo I'm working on and I'm almost done eventing chapter 0 of my game. Once I finish all of the eventing I'm gonna polish it up to make it my own. I'm actually pretty happy how the maps came out and how the first part of the game is turning out to be. But, still more work that needs to be done! Good luck with your project and don't be afraid to ask questions. Someone's bound to know something about whatever questions you got.
