Tsukihime 1,489 Posted May 24, 2012 (edited) Actor Windowskin Author: Tsukihime Overview Customize your windowskin based on who's in your party. Features Assign window skins to actors Specify actor priority (if they're in the same party Usage In the configuration just specify the actor ID and the windowskin filename. You can also specify the priority, which defines the actor's windowskin that should be drawn if multiple actors are in the party. Marx.J 2 Posted May 24, 2012 Hey, So I tried the script. I have one little problem with it when I go to test it. In order for the WindowSkin to change, I first have to open the menu and see the change there. If I don't open the menu first, then it will always stay as the old WindowSkin until such a time that I do open the menu. If it's alright, would you able to help me find a way around this? Tsukihime 1,489 Posted May 24, 2012 (edited) Hmm, that's because the windows that already existed on the map (eg: message window, etc) aren't re-created. I'd probably have to figure out all of the possible ways to change your actor, and then add a call to reload the scene. How are you planning to change your party members? Marx.J 2 Posted May 24, 2012 I was hoping to change have places where you could change switch out your PC at 'switch stations' that would involve the ever so basic "Change Party Member" event action. It would be set up so that you would only ever have one party member on your team at a time.
Tsukihime 1,489 Posted May 25, 2012 Well, I have updated it with some pretty ugly workarounds to get the map scene to reload the windows that it created before your windowskin is changed... Another method was to just constantly check whether the windowskin needs to be changed, but that's a pretty bad idea, especially since in your case the windowskin only gets changed when you change actors. And the only problematic windows are the the ones on the map.
Marx.J 2 Posted May 25, 2012 Well, I have updated it with some pretty ugly workarounds to get the map scene to reload the windows that it created before your windowskin is changed... The updated script worked like a charm. Exactly what I wanted. Thanks again for all your help!
Maus Merryjest 17 Posted July 17, 2012 Hmm, any way we could change the windowskins depending on who is the leader of the party?
ShinGamix 101 Posted January 15, 2014 (edited) I was wanting to use this where it would only change the message skin based on actor as I am using a customized menu system. How hard would it be to mod it into that? Edited January 15, 2014 by ShinGamix
