Where might I find your other title, The Promised Land? Is that available also?

You won't. I wish to permanently seal the away the cesspool of trouble that is known as The Promised Land forever from the sanctuary of my soul.

If that didn't make any sense to you, you won't find a copy on this site. :\

With that being said, I may as well say that The Last Prince is currently on hold for a little bit, what with work and Sword Girls taking up the majority of my spare time. Oh, and also Borderlands 2. I really should learn to prioritize better...

I'm wondering.. is this a solo title or are you working with a team?

Solo as of now, but I'm also extending a hand for anyone who wants to work on the project. If you want to do something for my game, just drop me a PM.

This goes for anybody as well, not just the person I'm quoting. :D

I figured it's been a while...

My offer is still open to anyone who can create a "Steampunk" map for my project, with a few branching paths. I won't be able to give much, except an honorable mention at the end of the game and a rep for your effort. If you are still interested, please PM me at any time.

A map in the style of steampunk :P

And steampunk is a mixture out of the styles from the victorian age and modern/futuristic style

Cinia I think it would be good to get an general outline of the map you want :P

What is a "Steampunk" map?

Since I'm not allowed to repost the images from the Steampunk Tile Set due to ToS, I will have to link you instead.

Like said, if one wants to help, one can PM me. That way, the topic isn't being flooded with two people talking back and forth about what the next step of the mapping is gonna be, and so on and so forth.

I have come across a game crashing bug. It is a script problem.

If you lean the Special skills on ONE character and then go to learn the same skills on another this error message occurs:

"Script 'yanfly Learn Skills Engine' line 726: NoMethodError occured

unidentified method 'each' for nil:nilClass"

Thought I'd let you know.

What I did was I used Leon to lean all of the special skills and then went to use Seigfried. It was just after saving Persea that I tried to learn those skills for all the characters that can learn them.

I have experienced this bug as well. Unfortunately, as YANFLY is currently AWOL at the moment, I can't immediately provide a fix, other than after switching to a character, press the Up or Down keys to refresh the skills for that particular character. That way, you won't get the bug. That's always what I've done.

**walks in**

So, yeah, it's been a while. But don't fear, I'm not out of the game yet! I'm back for what will probably be quite some time as I'm currently working on finishing up Chapter 4 of The Last Prince, now that I have found my backed-up Save File. I've had to revert back to Yanfly's Battle System Version 1.22 due to some massive bugs, which I cannot for the life of me solve, but I did fix the problem with the troop names, so hallelujah. Also, combat is a LOT slower paced now that message boxes take their full amount of time to display and aren't skipped.

Expect Version 1.3...I think that's what it is...to come out sometime in the next couple of weeks.

I'm playing it right now :)/>

I like it. I saw the crafting and I was like- "I have to implement this in my game!". I never payed attention to that Tactics Ogre Crafting System script...

And yeah, I like where it's going so far.

I think you're a good writer. It does remind me of a book style.

And although I'm a bit unknowledged towards the Active Chain Skills, I think I'll get used to it.

I can't figure out how to use the combo system. I use Slice to initiate a combo and it says that some combo skills are active, but when I go to use them (e.g. Rush, Flame Edge) they are greyed out. :/

More often than not, it's because you lack the necessary amount of TP. The amount of TP each Combo Skill uses increases each time. It starts at 8 for Grade 1 Combo Skills (Rush, Flame Edge, etc.), then goes to 12 for Grade 2 (Double Rush, Machina Breaker, etc.), and then finally 18 for Grade 3 Combo Skills (Thousand Swords, Black Sliver, etc.). Combine that with the TP that Slice initially uses, and the total amount of TP one Combo consumes is 43. If you're still confused, you can check the Special Skill and hover over the skills to see their TP cost. Also, if you have 8 TP left over after you use your Grade 3 Combo Skill, you'll start again over at Grade 1. Think Tales of Graces F where you can continually use skills until you run out of CC.

All Combos are set up this way and there are no changes. It's relatively hard to build up TP in the beginning stages of the game, but after a while, it becomes easier to combo, with weapons that give TP at the End Phase of every turn.

Sorry, but I'm still a bit confused. D:

Okay, here's my scenario. Leon has 35 TP, so I use Slice, it says Attack skill active: Rush. I had about 30 TP at this point, but Rush is still blanked out, although it says Rush costs 8 TP, which I know I do have.

Sure thing.

So in this image, you can see I have 21TP. I'm about to initiate a combo with Slice.

So, Rush is active and I have 16TP now.

vGtN1.png

Well, when I go to use Rush, it won't let me. :/

I'm not a game maker myself so I don't know what's wrong, but hopefully they should help!

Thank you, that makes things much clearer.

You can only use those moves in the middle of a Combo. That's why they're grayed out. When you initiate a Combo with Slice, before the animation ends, you have to input the next link of the Combo with either A, S, or D. So, if you want to get to Slice -> Rush, you have to input the "A" key before Slice ends ("Execute mid-combo with "A""). Then, before Rush ends, you have a limited amount of time to input the next command, with the A, S, or D keys (the first yellow-colored key is a hint).

It's a complicated Combo system. :\ Probably unnecessarily complicated.

Ohhh wow okay thank you. Can't believe I didn't realise that.

EDIT: I really like this system now that I can use it! It reminds me of FFXII's Quickenings, which I loved to bits.

EDIT 2: Need help! Story spoilers within.

Hey, I'm at the bit where you are in McLagen's hosue after the soldiers' attack on Cyrus. After Ileave the house to get my friends, well, I can't find them. I've looked everywhere in the city and even headed to Orslett but no sign of anyone. Any help?

If you go out the mansion, go north on the map, then all the way north again, then north that way, and then north once more, you'll get where you need to be. You have to stand at the end of the promenade (next to the box) in order to trigger the next event.

This sure is a long demo haha!

Just a suggestion: I think you should separate the Combo Skills from the Skills menu. The Skills menu is a bit cluttered at the minute.

Also, in the description of combo skills, you could maybe put what order in the combo it comes.

It's only a demo until it's fully developed, I say. But really though, this should be in the Project Development Forum. D:

Not a bad suggestion. There's only so much you can write in the description of a skill, though, and other traits of the skill (for example, if it does more damage against Machines, Dragons, etc.) come first, simply due to clarity.

Sorry for being a pain, but I noticed another thing! XD

In the game you mine Bronze Ore from Bronze Veins, yes? Well, bronze ore actually does not exist! It's an alloy of tin and copper, which means you have to smelt tin ore and copper ore to make a bronze bar. So it doesn't really make sense that you can find Bronze Veins.
