MLP RPG:Fall of Equestria (Demo nearly complete)

Story

A mysterious figure named "Tivalaeth" sends a faulty Spellbook to Twilight, claiming it was Princess Celestia,knowing Twilight will be naive enough to believe that,she opens it and cast a spell,a spell that sucks all of Ponyville and surrounding area's in a strange new world,the party slowly start to realize its a book,mean while,there seems to be trouble brewing between the nations of the "Book world".

Characters
Twilight sparkle

This is Twilight Sparkle,a young unicorn who was born in canterlot,she was sent to Ponyville

to learn about friendship,she is the element of magic,meaning she is more magically powerful

then most unicorns,though she isn't very adept in offensive magic,she still has some fighting skill.

She is kind,friendly but can be "naggy" and naive,despite her intelligence.

Pinkie pie

This is Pinkie pie,she is...well...Pinkie pie,she's happy,fun,hyper and always has a song to sing

she has a bad habit of not seeing whats right in-front of her over herself,but still

very opening cares about her friends and can't seem to live with out them,without

going insane,in battle she serves as a bard,singing and dancing to support the

party and distracting enemies.

Rainbow dash

This is Rainbow dash,she is reckless,strong and quick,she has the most

experiance at fighting,therefor she has a fairly high Attack stat,Power stat and

speed stat,she can hit from two to five time,her 'magic" skills are based off weather

ranging from tornadoes to thunder storms and everything in-between.

Applejack

This is Applejack,she is honest,athletic and and competivie,she often competes

with Rainbow dash on who is more athletic,only to figure out they where mostly

even,in battle she is the "warrior/tank" character with massive attack,great speed

and good defense,though she lacks in good AP and D-SPC,she packs on powerful buck.

Fluttershy

This is Fluttershy,she is...well...shy,extremely kind and gentle,but extremely

easly rattled,despite this,she will stick up for her friends if they're in danger,she

has a very close bond with Rainbow dash,who stuck up for her when she was a 

filly,in battle she is very weak,but can heal,support the party and summon her animal friends

Rarity

This is Rarity,she is vain and has a bad habit of forcing her issues/task on

her friends,despite this,she is the element of generosity,and thus is very caring

to her friends and loved ones,in battle she acts as a "Druid" of sorts,having the 

prowess of being offensive,but a much better healer and has a slue of support.

Spike

This is Spike,he is Twilights number one assistant,as well as her best friend,he isn't the best fighter

but has very tough scales,meaning he can take for DMG then most characters,he can also breath fire

and do low level magic,he is very kind,loyal and smart,but can very sarcastic and vain,this may be a effect

of his massive crush on Rarity.

The game in itself seems well thought out and well done. I will honestly admit I probably will not play it, simply due to the excessive amount of... well.... ponies. lol. I'm sure a lot of others will, though!

I don't get this pony stuff... seen it a lot on the internet lately, but seriously? Ponies? Come on kids... Maybe I'm just too old for that.

 

But let's talk about your game and not my personal preferences.

The concept of a 'cute' game is kinda fresh, so I approve of that and it could fill a hole in the mostly fantasy-some horror-maybe sci-fi landscape of RPG Maker games. The characters fit the concept pretty good, did you think off them yourself or is this based on some TV series or something I don't know about? I mean the characteristics, not the pictures, I've seen those before.

The charsets for the ponies look cute as well, but I'm afraid they don't really match the RTP tilesets. And the RTP tilesets don't really match the overall 'cute' style ofthe game. (also the battlebacks) But I guess it's hard to find tiles for that kind of stuff. Something you should definetly change is the mini map on screen, it looks really out of place just hovering around, being dark blue and all. Either try to visually implement it into the screen, like in some kind of HUD or get rid of it completely, I'd suggest.

 

I wish you all the best for your project, but there probably is still a lot of work to do.

Yeah,I wasn't sure if i shoulda posted this on here or just a MLP forum since i assumed this woulden't have large amount of people who enjoy the show

 

Something you should definetly change is the mini map on screen, it looks really out of place

I agree it looks pretty out of place and iirc theirs a guide somewhere to make a evented minimap so i'll try that out instead

 

, but I'm afraid they don't really match the RTP tilesets.

That was one thing I'm quite disapointed about to,the tilesets do not match the shows art style enough

I admit this looks interesting, you obviously put a lot of work in it. My roomate flipped out when he saw it, he's a huge brony so he asked me to post. I noticed that your writing and grammar a bit behind, I know you are trying to get the feel for the characters, but it kind of felt...weak to be honest. With as well done as everything else is, I hope you polish it up before release.

 

I'm a fairly decent writer and would be glad to look over whatever you need when I have time and give pointers or whatever. One last thing I feel I should mention. Your battlers, they are amazing, but the enemies waaaay outsize the foes, and especially with other ponies, it just looks off. I would recommend making the enemies more balanced in size. With a side view battle system you should have a bit more freedom with how you make your enemy sprites.
