Ok, then choosing to fight for Zendir should work. Try the last battle again with that choice and have fun :D

Ah, but if you manage to save Zendir, then the world has no more reason to hate magic because magicians saved it.

But they also are the reason the water was poisoned. ;) And how does Zendir know that a group of magician saved whole Zendir from 2 evil magician? Do they run around and yell "We defeated 2 evil mages!!!" ? :D Don't get me wrong your game is alright but that statement of the happy end is well ... :/

Besides I don't see the reason why confronting the evil for saving Zendir or for your friends have much of an impact. Even if you would defeat it for yourself it would still defeat the evil. :P

Those choices could have an impact on the realationships of the group members and not (in my opinion) on the success of the "mission".

This is just my opinion and you can ignore it if you want to :P

It's whatever you make of it, it's only a game after all, lol. As for having friends around, the one that wasn't in the party managed to stop the poisoned water flow. I had an epic scene in mind here, but due to time constraints, couldn't finish it and had to dumb it down loads. But I'll put the scene back for the Director's Cut, ok?

I was thinking that, but then I had to consider how I could get multiple endings. The gathering of team-mates isn't as fleshed out as I'd like it to be, and I wanted to put more options and suchlike in the actual gathering of the teammates which would ultimately...

affect the success of the mission.

Oh well. Still enjoyable to make and play though, lol.

Would be nice for the directors cut and I'm waiting for the sequel because you can finish it without having the time in your back.

And yes its still enjoyable ;)

As for Zendir 2, I can tell you that the beginning alone is defo. ten times better than Zen 1's, lol.

My norton does not like the extrator file. I think it could be because it is a .exe, could you make a download where it is inside a .zip or .rar file?

I always wanted to download this game right from the moment I heard it's name. "Zendir". It's got a nice ring to it. I'll let you know what I think of it once I finish downloading.

(I should probably take a shower while it's downloading. It's been a while.... )

If I did that, then the game files would end up unencrypted, but I'll see if there's a way I can encrypt them, yet zip them or something.

(It's a big game because of the music lol)

Enjoy!

140 is because of the music.

Just butting in, try converting all of your custom sounds/music/etc. to OGG format. It saves a ton of space.

I prefer it when people upload to Mediafire by the way. It's seamless to download things from there. If your game is over the size limit w/o paying, compress it first.

In the end, offer your players as many options as possible to download instead of being so narrow about it.

Anyways, I would play this, but I'm so busy at work on my game that I don't have any time for other things, sorry, lol

They are all OGGs actually. How does one compress the game further?

In future, I'll put Zen 2 on Dropbox AND Rapidshare. Other sites have a limit. Not trying to be narrow, lol.

I understand how time-consuming working on a game can be!

Wow, really? Is that RTP or non-RTP? I don't include RTP with my games at all because it just seems pointless when it can be easily downloaded separately. Seriously, you must have a lot of custom music as OGG's if it's still 140.

Also, just use WinRAR or some other compression program to compress it. You can cut it's size by about a quarter or more with the best compression rates.

Good, :)

Thanks for understanding, lol. Especially because my game is such a massive project. Even one Episode is going to take me at least 3 months to prepare by myself. I have to map and event the main story missions, the 300X300 overworld, a collection of side-missions, a mining mini-game... It's murder. I try and get mappers to help out, but no one wants to, :(

Yes, a lot of it is custom, and I used some RTP materials, but mostly the BGS in the RTP. Zen 2 may not feature any but 1 RTP song (which is pretty much edited through the pitch editor so it doesn't even sound the same anyway, and it fits well)

Oh my gosh, wow >.< Zen 2 doesn't have an Overworld, so I don't have that issue at the moment, but I still have about 15 outdoor maps to finish (sigh).

Well, that's one of the challenges of making an open-world RPG in comparison to a linear one like yours. Just imagine, it's not only 1 300X300 I have to map. The full game will have 3. But we better stop chatting before the admin barges in...

Zen isn't actually linear. But if you want, we can stop talking here and discuss this over PM lol.

So, I started the game. What I was immediately struck by was a complete lack of direction. The guy walks into town and then I'm like... then what? I'm walking into story events at complete random because I'm not sure where I'm supposed to be.

Anyways, I figured it out eventually, and one thing I don't like is the towns where there are a bunch of buildings, but you don't know which ones you can enter, and considering there all just little world-map buildings doesn't help either. Especially when you've still got full-sized characters walking around. The city feels more like a town for tiny people, lol

Well, I'm in the dungeon now, and why did you set the pitch slider so low for the battle theme? It's a battle, music is supposed to be fast-paced not crawl at this sloooooow pace.

Story seems interesting, but not far enough to know much about it. Just my initial observations.

Oh yea, random encounters suck btw. Not to mention the encounters are waaaaay too frequent. I'm staring at the battle screen more then exploring the dungeon, >.<

Zen 2 won't have random encounters, they'll be on-map. And the pitch is low because I'm deaf, LOL. I'll speed it up for the remake though if you like, that's an easy fix :)

Thanks for the comments so far. First game, Zen 2's much better and has direction so if you need help at any point, just let me know.

Relax. First, the Suzaku thing is a bug. I fixed that, but it's not worth uploading an entirely new download for. Suzaku basically thanks you. Also, as for the ship - how did you reach Aile in the first place, and what did you do whilst in Aile?

Thanks for replying - i bought the ship, got Anya. opened chests , spoke with the person near the lake, spoke to Myrtle, and the farmer, read the letter, did the quest - sea monster then went to the other village, spoke with everyone, the did Suzuka but then could not find my ship

No problem, but that sounds weird. None of my beta testers have encountered this issue. Would you mind sending me your game files? I might be able to fix a switch for you in the game and send you an updated version, as this sounds more like a glitch than a bug - a one-off, if you will. I have nothing in Aile or Fardon that would affect the Ship Switch.
