+ FenixFyreX 18 Posted January 31, 2012 (edited) So there is an error when copying the tiles from vx to ace, and thats what is freaking the system out...lemme look into it. Actually now that I think about it, I'm going to slightly revamp the way this works - instead of creating a whole new tilesets.rvdata2, I'll just distribute a working one with the VX tilesets. That way I'm not requiring so much from the user(i.e. the VX RTP, etc, etc). I'll have the new version up tonight. And thats great that it's working. kayden997 84 Posted January 31, 2012 HAHA Awesome! Works!!! It translated all that I cared about. I honestly didn't expect it to load maps which is completely nominal to me, I can copy and paste the maps over then fix the graphics accordingly. This even converted the custom battles and custom animations so this did 99% of the work for me! Copied custom common events, every single switch and variable naming them accordingly. It didn't convert graphics of the custom battles, but by placing the graphics in the corrosponding folders this fixed that because it would error out when play testing asking for a file name lol. If the app was suppose to copy my maps then meh, it did not copy the vx map data over which is kind of weird, it does, however, copy the map data if you have custom map data loaded so woot. I gues to fix the problem of it not loading map data copy the vx rtp to your vx project's corrosponding folder then do the convert because it loaded the custom tileset I have! EDIT: It only works sometimes which I find really odd seeing how it worked once then not again when trying a different project... Huh... Lucky... @FenixFyreX Cool, just let us know when the next version is up! Thank you for creating this BTW
DAVE_EBUBBLES 16 Posted February 1, 2012 Cool, that version didn't work for me, but yeah, the next version should.

DAVE_EBUBBLES 16 Posted February 11, 2012 Be patient you all. Fenix is working on it. The current version doesn't work for some users, it will be fixed in due time. Pestering won't help its progress.

steven lee 0 Posted February 14, 2012 This is gonna be cool! this means i can start/resume a project in the regular VX and be able to continue in the new editor? sweeet. in the meantime i'll have to deal with the regular VX for now. anyways thanks for brewing up such a program. i'll be using it when/if the official translation exists. DAVE_EBUBBLES 16 Posted February 15, 2012 (edited) Its not quite that simple, there'll still be a bit of effort required on your part, and scripts wont be converted, so if you liked Tankenati, thats no longer a thing, at least not until someone makes something similar. Azaarious 1 Posted February 15, 2012 there are a few Tankenati scripts, but they don't merge well with other scripts. I just plan on using this to transfer maps over, I will probably rework my story, as it has had some revisions, and with the Ace scripts I have acquired I can do a lot of stuff that I couldn't have previously. Though I see his last post was over 2 weeks ago, I am curious if he is still working on it. (Not complaining as I am working on several games with a couple different groups, and working on my own game, and have all the time in the world) Though Props for the great idea of a transfer program. DAVE_EBUBBLES 16 Posted February 16, 2012 (edited) Fenix is always working on something, don't you worry about that. there are a few Tankentai scripts, but they don't merge well with other scripts.Thats hardly anything new. People didn't like its compatibility in VX either, but if you were inventive, you could make it work, I did. I'm honestly intrigued to see these few Tankentai scripts. They sound like something I could get to work. (Nevermind, found them.) Edited February 19, 2012 by BizarreMonkey
+ FenixFyreX 18 Posted February 16, 2012 Sorry guys. Life is a bitch and then you get behind on your internets lol I'm still working on this, trust me. It's not dead. Just give me some time to sort a few things out, I'll have this running for everyone eventually.
Faalhaas 10 Posted February 16, 2012 Besides all the errors we of course all look forward to your hard and promising work FenixFyrex. without you, we would've to do this ourselves. once finished with this, you saved us a lot, lot of time. thank you fenix, for doing this for the community. ~Faal
kayden997 84 Posted February 16, 2012 True, I think most people are willing to wait. I wonder if it's possible to release one with a debug console to understand the problem. Idk, just throwing suggestions
Azaarious 1 Posted February 17, 2012 I'm honestly intrigued to see these few Tankentai scripts. They sound like something I could get to work. If you happen to get one to work with Yanfly scripts, I would be very interested. PM me if you would, should that ever be the case and I will check it out. Sorry guys. Life is a bitch and then you get behind on your internets lol I'm still working on this, trust me. It's not dead. Just give me some time to sort a few things out, I'll have this running for everyone eventually. Thats cool, life always comes ahead of the Internet. Fully understandable, but thanks for the update. DAVE_EBUBBLES 16 Posted February 19, 2012 (edited) If you happen to get one to work with Yanfly scripts' date=' I would be very interested. PM me if you would, should that ever be the case and I will check it out.[/quote']Thats unlikely, the one i got (from Enu's website) is almost as much of a mess as his one for VX. I will persist though, I'm going to see if i can get it to work with Intelligence and a few Yanfly scripts I'll be using, I'll be as inventive as I can. I managed to translate a bit of it with my knowledge of the previous one. So I'll do what I can. Edit: Yeah, I'm gonna scratch it for now, its rather difficult untranslated. axisdude 3 Posted February 26, 2012 Do audio files transfer over using this program? I'm worried and curious since I want some of the music used from the VX project but they're MIDI files. I also have no scripts attached to the project on VX. Would porting it over to Ace make it function properly?
kayden997 84 Posted February 26, 2012 (edited) Do audio files transfer over using this program? Lol! Does the RTP transfer over? No. *sarcastic* Edited February 26, 2012 by kayden997
DAVE_EBUBBLES 16 Posted February 26, 2012 I dont see any reason why Midi's wouldn't work, so it should be fine, yeah.
Andrew K 0 Posted March 14, 2012 (edited) The program itself isn't even opening for me Any help as to why? This is very depressing. Edited March 14, 2012 by Andrew K
John Freeman III 0 Posted March 25, 2012 Is this still being worked on? I'm getting the failed to load map data info as well. I copied all of the data I had to the folder as well. I tried installing ruby but that didn't seem to help either. Really surprising RPG Maker themselves didn't provide a solution for this.
John Freeman III 0 Posted March 25, 2012 I renamed all my maps to have the right extension which actually gets rid of the error but everything is way out of place, it could be because it's not reading my tilesets right, which I'm trying to figure out how to get them working now, they arent even showing up at the left with the others though. John Freeman III 0 Posted March 26, 2012 (edited) Ok, now I have my tile sets right and everything looks correct, my events are all still here too. Seems like other than some of the basic things in the OP everything is here. Only problem is the game won't play >_>, no error it just closes itself. EDIT: I messed with the files a bit more, replacing more of the files from the vxace folder. Now I have the game started but have this error "Script 'window_MapName' line 69:NoMethodError occured. undefined method 'empty?' for nil:NilClass" Not sure if this topic is still being used but if anyone has any ideas I'd appreciate the help, starting to think making this game from scratch might have ended up quicker EDIT 2: I copied a map from a standard rpgmaker vxace game, my character loads into that, and I can transfer him to my normal field map, every other transfer breaks the game though. I cant tell any difference with the maps, at this point not sure what else I can do. EDIT 3: Hard to believe so quick after that last update I somehow got this working. By opening up all of my maps then pressing ok (press space then enter) I got them all working. All I have to do now is mess with my tile sets for my guy can walk over things. DAVE_EBUBBLES 16 Posted March 28, 2012 Interesting, that sounds like a lot of messing about, you probably could have saved yourself loads of time and effort by using the other vx to vx ace converter thats kicking around here. Its a little buggy, but nothing that cant be ironed out. Once this is in full swing i imagine it should be a fair bit more popular though.
