Levi Stepp 12 Posted December 28, 2012 It turns out when I got this new PC, and I tried transfering my Project's folder via; Flash Drive/and Upload sites that the folder became corrupted. This really sucks but at least this gives me the opportunity to remaster some stuff.

Radiant Arin 412 Posted December 28, 2012 Screw backing up. I don't even know where my Flash Drive is.
Levi Stepp 12 Posted December 28, 2012 Load one of your backups? I tried loading it, I didn't encrypt it either, I don't know what happen but when I tried opening the folder, and just says "Cannot open file <C:\Users\Levi\Documents\RPGVXAce\My Game Name>"
Galv 1,387 Posted December 28, 2012 Tried loading "it"? What about your others? Previous backups if your most recent was corrupted somehow, go to the previous day's backup. I backup my projects after every day I do a lot of work on them and keep all of them just in case. On portable hardrive, different internal harddrive and every couple of days to offsite hosting. Not sure what can be done if it's been corrupted.

Not sure what can be done if it's been corrupted. I don't know if you remember, but I made a topic on how I got a new PC for Christmas, and was wondering if I could get my Ace on it without re-buying which I did. I then put all my important files on a flash drive before I unhooked my PC to set up my new one, once everything was done, I opened my Flash Drive, moved my Project to the same location as I had it on my previous PC. So I couldn't of really back it up on a new PC. However new projects work, and if I also try opening it on my old PC it works. Oh well.
Galv 1,387 Posted December 28, 2012 Maybe it's just corrupt on the flash drive? Can you try a different method to move it from your old computer to your new computer?

I did, in my OP i said I even uploaded my files to an Upload service. Edited December 28, 2012 by Levi Stepp
+ Titanhex 284 Posted December 28, 2012 Perhaps the corruption is not corruption at all. Perhaps it's simply a mistake in pathing. What if your project on your old comp is pointing to a non-existent path on your new computer? If this is the case just make all the path names are the same between computers. Perhaps there's a registry difference. I'd guess this is the problem. But this is a guess. Usually RPG Maker is pretty good about transferring and loading projects on different computers. amerk 1,122 Posted December 30, 2012 You might want to visit with the staff at RMW to see what solutions they have for you. There have been some that ran into conflicts with Windows 8 and COGEN DRM. It could be a number of reasons, and since that site are employed with Degica staff members, they may be more equipped to provide a solution.

What is RMW? o.0 and I don't have Windows 8 (I will never get that until it improves way more) I have Windows 7 64-Bit. Mind sending me the file so I can check it? I rather not, since my stuff was not encrypted. That will lead someone to steal my stuff since I never made my project public or shown it yet. and if that happened, I wouldn't have any proof that I made it first.
