Semi-permanent screen tinting

Recommended Posts

Is there a way to extend a darkening (not a fadeout) or tinting of the screen to "until event X turns it off?"

I find it very hard to do "dark cave," interiors without resorting to external tilesets, (I like to exhaust all "in-box" options before importing)  and I can't help but think that I'm missing something really obvious.

When you transfer into the cave, tint the screen dark.  When you transfer to a map outside the cave, tint to normal.  The tint should stay permanent until it's re-tinted.

See, then what's the timing thing in the event entering box?  I was under the impression you had to do these things by a number of frames.

The timing is actually how quickly it transitions from it's current tint to the new tint you're setting. Great for day turning to night so it's not like "SUDDENLY, NIGHT!".

I officially love you.  Thank you so much for clarifying that! :D
