Mr. Starman 0 Posted January 1, 2013 So, I've been playing games made by RPG Maker VXAce and sometimes, when the BGM changes, the game just crashes, giving me a generic Windows error message. And when I disable the music by renaming the music folder, the crashes stop appearing. Of course, I don't have any BGMs as a result. I've installed the RTP so I don't know what's wrong. Please help. Monkey D. Luffy 0 Posted January 2, 2013 It could be a sound card issue. What sound card do you have? How old is it? did you recently change sound cards?Have you had any similar problems Have you updated a sound driver recently? Check online for information about your specific sound card and see if the is a history of crashes. Aside from reinstalling /rebooting this is the only thing I could think of. Mr. Starman 0 Posted January 2, 2013 Well, I just reinstalled my sound card driver (Realtek) and that didn't solve the problem. My sound card is probably onboard since I'm on a laptop.

Mr. Starman 0 Posted January 2, 2013 Well, I've managed to sidestep the problem by converting all the music files to .wav. I think it works flawlessly now. Thanks for the help anyway.
